If you are among people that start trading, or investing in cryptocurrency from 2016, you shouldn't be complaining of been rekt. You should have make more than 100% of your capital investment before now. So many people makes x20, x50 of their each trading during those periods, because we saw unbelievable pumps then that made peeps money.
I can remember then turning 150k to over 850 under a month, that's how juicy those periods are.
When i see how much I've achieved compare with what I started with, I always be glad because I started nearly with nothing.... That has been my console and everybody that started from 2016.
So, forget about this bear period be glad with what you have achieved with cryptocurrency.
I wasn't so "lucky". I did start in early 2016, but spent many months reading and learning about Bitcoin. I'd already heard about it before but stayed away for reasons of past bad experience with new digital money. I did not realise until much later just how special Bitcoin technology was.
It was only in mid-2016 that I properly got into Bitcoin. Sort of a combination of things. I had started a new life elsewhere, left a long career, and decided to make a return to freelancing. Realised quite a few people/jobs were willing to pay out in Bitcoin. Made a nice new wallet, did a few things for my initial satoshi, played with faucets throughout while seeking more permanent gigs. It was only in late 2016 I secured a few significant items of work and by January 2017, I had a small accumulation of Bitcoin. That was when 2017 happened.
Was a little annoying to see the amounts I earned (paid in Bitcoin and alts but always fixed dollar value) get smaller and smaller, but also nice that several alts I received in 2016 actually showed value.
So yeah, I gained quite a bit, so nothing to complain about. I saw my holdings peak, never sold, they're all shrunk now but I'm enjoying the learning and the journey. I earn in Bitcoin mostly and am spending more and more in Bitcoin. It's not bad at all.
