EDIT- changes made, nice!

****
The angled frame, and blue bitcoin text is a good foundation. Adding two shades of green + white + orange + black shadow is too many colors. And three fonts is too many fonts.

Stick with one (perhaps 2) fonts and 2 colors. Angle and orient the text to match the perspective of the outlining frame and it'll make it much more cohesive - may resemble a retro 50's style Americana sign which might be cool.

Like this? Two colors and one font:

Thanks, you put it into better words then I could think of to tell the designer. I had the same thoughts exactly just couldn't pinpoint what it was.

Two notes, one ontopic and one slightly off (note, I may be wrong, and evrrhees seems to have much more marketing experience than I)

The 'cheaper' carries a poor connotation - it lends itself to quality rather than expense.  To combat this, try to implement some type of 'crown' or 'royalty' (royal purple, perhaps) into the logo.  Yes, I know it sounds cheesy, but in various liquor brands , a rebranding of a 'crown' massively increased sales against it's competitor ( I can't remember the names for the life of me, I'm trying google-fu, give me a moment).

For the record, I love your site, it's very well laid out and by far the most 'professional' bitcoin store I know of.

Edit2: Also, olive branches make anything look fancy (https://i.imgur.com/VxOgg.jpg)

Love the site, but I think the new logo needs work..

Something not right about it, dosent look as professional as your site is already.
Maybe it is the cartoonish nature of it.. ?

Something a little more modern, looking, futuristic, sleek lines... but most importantly, professional looking

How about we take a look at some other name brand stores logo

Just taking a look at all of these, I think it is safe to say that there is way to many colors, and the fonts need to be uniform as well as what peter stated the words aren't aligned so I'll tell the designer to make it more "brand" like and we'll see what he pops out with next.

I think I put my finger on it..

It looks as though it came fom a generic program with that layout on it, you just change the letters to your own..

And yes, there could be too many colours on it..

First link on google on my search was this site..

http://www.vectorilla.com/tag/logo/

These are perfect examples of what I consider professional looking logos..

Lots of logos here to inspire your artist...

I dunno, it looks kinda cartoonish to me  Undecided

Also, the letters in "bitcoins" look like they are out of alignment, like they have not all been rotated the same amount?

It is just about right, because people nowdays are becoming more and more cartoonish, it is a fact...
all what media "teaches" new generations (for last few decades) is to be more irresponsible, childish,
not to ask questions about government, so the product is childish person , on average,

what is not appealing to us geeks should actually be pretty good for wider audiences Smiley

Looks good, doesn't bug me as much as the other one.  This new one seems more crisp.
