I am sure that it will be (almost) impossible to make a call and find open line Smiley

But... Smiley

I don't know how many consultants MtGox has but seems like thousands of calls are gonna to be made.

What they should do first is publish a FAQ on their site and THEN open the callcenter.
They now what everyone is going to ask, what will happen to my BTC, are SEPA withdrawals still processed, will I ever get my USD withdrawal etc.

Also convenient that we have to call a Japanese number starting at 2 AM (my time)

Everyone should be asking about Gox's 2 wallets that have been discovered to contain 90,000 BTC:

Wallets:

Unforunately you will not get an answer to that from call centre staff who have been briefed on answering two or three specific questions and no more.

EDIT: but you could ask for the contact details of the supervising court official to whom you could send such info. That might just work but I still doubt it.

there's so many questions that need to be answered.. we should make a new thread for a list of valuable questions that are worded correctly for clear cut answers that leave no stone un-turned

Please ask: what specifically caused BTC 850k to be unaccounted for: was it stolen / were private key lost / rouge employee inside job?

So far Karpeles did not tell what he actually meant by ''coins unaccounted for''.

Here http://venturebeat.com/2014/02/28/mt-gox-files-for-bankruptcy-protection-after-losing-473m-worth-of-bitcoins-has-63m-in-debt/ Karpeles says ''There was some weakness in the system, and the bitcoins have disappeared.'' - please demand that they tell you on which specific day bitcoins disappeared.

there's so many questions that need to be answered.. we should make a new thread for a list of valuable questions that are worded correctly for clear cut answers that leave no stone un-turned

And the answers to many of those questions simply aren't going to be available any time soon.  This isn't an episode of CSI.  It's going to take investigators a long time to piece together exactly what has been going on at MtGox.

Even if MtGox tells investigators the absolute truth about everything, until investigators have been able to verify that information your questions will go unanswered.  This isn't something a team of forensic accountants can sort out in a week.  It could be months before your questions can be conclusively answered.

Y'all need to stop playing Nancy Drew and realise that this isn't a TV series where the plot gets wrapped up in a few episodes.  A proper investigation will take as along as it takes and you need to get out of the way and let investigators do their jobs.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Ok i was on hold for 20 minutes then a Japanese woman answered, spoke to me in Japanese and then said hang on a minute, then she put me on hold, then she hung up.

UPDATE:

OK second attempt I got through.
A softly spoken, hypnosis-inducing Japanese lady spoke to me.
She basically said there is no information and to check the website for updates.
Basically pointless to call them.
