The 14 day period is confusing to find start and end dates with..

Here is a post explaining exactly when the 14 day periods start and giving a list of all days till 2021.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736

No longer active on bitcointalk, however, you can still reach me via PMs if needed.

Might as well sticky this...several threads a day asking this question.

Might be a good idea... Unfortunately, I'm not staff (yet?), so I can't Wink

Liam

Probably should be stickied. I don't remember reading it anywhere in the help.

Yes, I know there's an official thread explaining this somewhere but I've had a hard time finding it whenever I've looked.  I think this (or the official thread) should be stickied.

What part of what I said isn't true?
Your activity increases with your post count if your post count is less than (time * 14). Your post count can be more than 14 below (time * 14), therefore your activity can increase with your post count for more than 14 levels within a 2 week period.

true

I'm pretty sure your activity only increases with your post count up until the max of 14 points for that period. I've never seen any instances of what you're saying unless I'm missing something here.

I think it's correct just stated confusingly.  The most clear explanation is the OP.  define "time", define postcount, then activity = min(time*14,postcount)

I'm not disputing that, but just the claim that people can get more than 14 activity in any two week period in some instances. That's what I'm not getting or unsure of.

To get It all clear and more simple. You can get 28 activity per 2 weeks period maximum. Usually you will always get 14 activity every 2 weeks period If your post count Is high enough to gain your activity.

Basically you get 14 activity every 2 weeks period If you post at least once in those 2 weeks and your post count Is higher than your activity.

It would be great to edit the OP to contain the levels at which you get various promotions.  The OP perfectly explains the calculation, but now I need to go and find another thread to see what level numerically equals what level rank.

Cheers!

Because you need to have posted in each of the two week periods to get the full points. You wont be able to get another 14 points until Tuesday and then another 14 two weeks after that and so on. Why do you want them so bad anyway?

You may want to phrase  your questions a tiny bit more clearly

Your activity is going up at those dates :

In order to make this thread more productive, here are some of the next timings :-

A lot of folks forget the aspect of "if your post count is higher than your activity".  I've had this account for a long time and just posted every now and again for a long time.  So my activity basically rises step-in-step with my post count.  Several times I've said, oh, I'm about to be promoted in rank and someone will say "no you won't until Tuesday" not realizing that I'm one of the few old accounts with a low activity because I don't post a lot.

You can find the time limit formulas in the "NEWBIE README" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.msg5106206#msg5106206.

You can definitely get more than 14 activity in a two week period as long as your time*14 is < postcount.  This is the case for my account.  I logged on very rarely for over a year and posted just once or twice per week on average.  Therefore, if/when I go on a posting rant my activity climbs in step with my post count.  I joined a sig-ad campaign and my activity went from jr member to full member in two weeks.
