chieffery please ignore me too.  In fact why don't you just ignore everyone?

Everyone?  Oh you mean you and the 3 people defending a known scam artist?  How many of the BTC that he stole does he pay you to defend him?  We already know he pays coblee in free hosting services.

Good idea, I ignored you and the other people defending the scammer.

Yeah, you made it very clear that you don't care about the security of your users.

No, I was merely trying to bring some humor to this forum. I care very much about the security of Litecoin users. I've asked people time and time again to build their own client from source. I also went through the trouble of running WinXP in a virtual machine just so that I can compile the Windows client for you guys, since it's hard to trust anyone else to do this. I also spent a lot of time trying to build the Windows daemon myself. When I couldn't, I tried hard to find somone reputable (twobits) to do it. You don't know me that well. So don't claim that I don't care about the security of users.

And how well do you know terrytibbs? How can you say that "both the litecoin domains run high risk of having links to malicious binaries"? Just because he had a disagreement with how to handle a sale gone bad not due to a fault of his own, does that make it a "high risk" that he will link the website to malicious code? From my dealings with terrytibbs, I believe this risk is very very low that he would sabotage the website in that way. You would have to trust my judgement on that, similar to how people trust my judgment that twobits won't sabotage the Windows daemon.

And please don't make it sound like terrytibbs paid me to defend him with free hosting services. That's laughable.

Something interesting about chieffery, his last sale, of an employee LoL account, goes against LoL's eula (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=47865.0) (http://na.leagueoflegends.com/legal/eula) - which once LoL determines their ex-employee has sold the account, will probably disable the account.  Looks like we'll see another scammer label around here soon enough Wink

Go to sleep knowing chieffery, the messages of this guy https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=49638.0 get heard more than yours and make more logical sense.    I'm sure that thread will have a shit ton more views than this one too lol.   I am starting to think that chieffery may in fact be terrytibbs under a different name, created to draw up support for himself.

Sorry, but there's nothing contradicting about those 2 statements.

I can quote you too. chieffery: "Please learn reading comprehension"
Yeah, please do.

Did you not read that I believe the risk of him doing that is very very low? Just because that's the worst he can do, it doesn't mean he will do it.

Did you also not read that the Windows daemon is built by twobits? What do you think the worst twobits could do is? Yeah, he could do a lot worse. So why do you trust my judgement of character there?

I think I've said enough here and in the main thread. From my point of view, you definitely have a hidden agenda here or are just trolling. So I won't keep feeding you anymore.

Sorry, but there's nothing contradicting about those 2 statements.
Did you also not read that the Windows daemon is built by twobits? What do you think the worst twobits could do is?
1. Yes they directly contradict each other.  Accepting that your users can be linked to malicious binaries from the main litecoin site by a known scam artist shows a direct and complete disregard for the security of your users.
2. Is towbits a proven scammer like your host?  Didn't think so.

Report my thread all you want, just because you argue nonsense does not change the FACTS:
1. You have a known scam artist hosting/maintaining litecoin.org and litecoin.info and have stated that you are comfortable with comprising the security of Litecoin users via linked malicious binaries.
2.  If anyone has an alternate agenda, its you.  Perhaps you just need a scapegoat so when you scam your entire user base you can say "oops looks like he was a scammer" and wash your hands.

Unfortunately, as much as I'd like to personally rip out the spinal cord of half the scamcoin enthusiasts in this thread, this thread is merely stating a fact. The person hosting the sites has been deemed a scammer. Get over it. If any supporters have an issue with this on the PR side of things, why the fuck are you letting a scammer represent you anyway?

Peace

Yup my questions exactly.  I'd like to hear more impartial opinions, so far its the same 3 people spamming the thread with nonsense and trying to detract from the main point, which makes me question their motivations.

this thread is merely stating a fact.

Terrytibbs has the scammer label, and he is hosting the litecoin website.  Those are the only two 'facts' presented.  The rest is (he'll put malicious code, ltc people have been paid off, etc) are inaccurate.

You guys really fucked that one up. I'd recommend fixing it so that he no longer has an issue, rather than just ignoring the fact that there is an actual issue.

Oh I agree it probably wasn't the best PR move to have 'a scammers' name on a project like this.  But then again the only way I'm involved in LTC is 1) mining and 2) a poor attempt at a logo.

Edit: The only thing many people calling out are unfounded, arrogant claims.  Seems to be a trend on these forums  Roll Eyes

We are not here to clean up terry's mess, he does not represent Litecoin, the fix needs to be people understanding that rather than ignoring it.   The only people who have any issue with it, are in this thread, and possibly the same user.

From what I had seen before and I am going from memory, I think terry deserves the tag he has, he should repay the people that he sold whatever logins or whatever it was that ended up going bad.  Whatever, still has nothing to do with Alternate Currencies and the horrible way this is being handled by whoever it is under the chieffery handle.   I do not know terry handles his business or all the specifics, but if he was scamming before, I assure the people involved, this is not how they are going to get their money back or have your claims have any validity.

I'm just saying that if he scammed, why is anyone in the 'litecoin community' (I use the term lightly) allowing him to represent?
Again, I don't see him as representing Litecoin, this is where I see our opinions differ.

You need to be on a MagicalTux should have a scammer label for hosting Bitcointalk where all the scams are allowed to start.

Just so it is known, I agree with the point that as far as bad PR goes, even though it is FUD from the original poster, the fact that remains that it would be an annoying issue again and again to deal with people having fear of whatever they think terrytibbs end game is with this.   However it could be a good filter to ensure the user base would be people who looked at the details of the issue and decide for themselves if it is a non-issue or not.

Sorry but all your doing is defending him, so you are attempting to clean up his mess.  I have never traded with terry so I have no money to get back, and the label of "SCAMMER" on his name is all the validity my claims need.

Here is my history on this issue for all those involved with and defending the scammer:

1.Discover litecoins
2.Start mining / building a litecoin estore
3.Create a logo for the coin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=47417.msg586455#msg586455

4.Find out that i was linked to a binary by a known scammer
5.PM Coblee to find out why this is the case
6.Coblee doesn't reply to my PM but instead posts on his own thread.
7.Not satisfied with Coblee's answers I question his decision
8.Coblee requests that I create a new thread as to not spam his

9.Create new thread, at this point rather dumbfounded that a known scam artist is being supported by Coblee and a few select others

Anyone who wanted this coin to fail would have just let things go unseen, use your big boy thinking caps ok?  If terry had scammed me I sure as hell wouldn't be taking that up with the Litecoin community.  I have invested time, effort, and resources into ltc and i would hate to see it fail over such a lousy decision as letting a scammer host the main site and wiki.

I try to think of it more as offending you then defending him, because I have no defense for terrytibbs at all, sorry you see it that way, but glad you were going to sleep a while ago but we provided enough entertainment for you to stay awake Smiley
