Was just browsing the altcoin mining section, It seems new kind of bots have popped up.

First, I encountered this in VoskCoin's Thread, I thought it was just a bot account trying to Rank up by creating spam posts and deleting them down the line.

TalentSnap is a new word in the sphere of hiring. Its’ ecosystem can only exist with the use of a token - called TalentSnap Coin (TSC) - the key to transmitting one’s data across the Blockchain. With TSC, employers and candidates alike can make use of FitScore to find their perfect fit counterpart, and seeding nodes in the ecosystem. Now we can purchase them with 40% bonus, can you imagine? Roll Eyes

But then I encountered this.

TalentSnap is all about Automating Hiring with Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence Technologies. They are going to change everything connected with hiring! This year alone, the team has partnered with more than 30 Blockchain startups to grow their teams. TalentSnap creators are so experienced and forward-looking people, that’s why I’ve joined their ICO! Grin

They are using bots to spam around the forum!  Undecided  When will we as a community start to take action Huh I don't know whats next! We have already got people bumping up ICO threads, Signature spammers, Farmers and now this :/

We need to take action now! Rather than sit on our asses and debate this shit out. Captcha for newbies should be implemented right away, Or shadowban them till one of the mods approve them.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

It was a bounty requirement and mprep dealt with it:

These bots or spammers aren't anything new and it has been going on a while in various guises by different parties with different motivations. There's unlikely anything to be done about it anytime soon, but hopefully on the new forum there will be several preventative measures that we've suggested. At least theymos didn't write all the suggestions off we've made so I still have hope. Captchas wouldn't stop this or bots fully though. Manually whitelisting would catch most of them however.

Without changes to how ICOs and their bounties and signature campaigns can operate here though there will be little change and things will only get worse the longer we leave it. Measures such as punishing badly run ICOs and campaigns can start now though as well as removing signatures from lower ranks or making a merit requirement to move up to Junior.

This is probably the best example I've seen recently about how bad things have got here:

There's so many things wrong with that:

1) He's a haiki/doge bot.
2) He's a Junior Member.
3) He's on a signature campaign.
4) He's posting in the Howeycoins thread about how great it and its team are: A non-existent fake ICO with a non-existent team. If it wasn't for staff then these bots would be getting paid, and the ones we miss will be, but staff shouldn't have to be policing every campaign that is too lazy to do anything. It is them that are destroying the forum and making it unfit for purpose and there should be some repercussions and punishments for that. If you allow people to get away with murder then they will continue to do so until there's some laws and punishments to prevent it.

I personally believe that at least 80% of threads in the altcoin section are infested with bots that write on threads to bring them to the front page.
I do not know if it is useful to reportart them all to mods since you create a lot of works for mods and you can not win a war against bots, they can create an unlimited number of accounts against a limited number of mods. They alwasys win.
We need a restriction on registration or on the ability to post.

They are not always bots, but most of the times they are just spammers entitled with a signature and are getting paid a few coins to post all this crap. The only way to at least reduce this spam is to warn the managers in Bounties section to only accept users >= Member in signature campaigns so that these activity farming spammers don't get to do all this. If a campaign accepts users below Member rank, their threads should get locked down until they change their rules.

Fingers crossed. Epochtalk has been in the development-phase for ages now from the looks of this thread. I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet...

Let them face Google's Captcha and ban them as soon as they make their first spam post, We will see how long they can afford to buy captcha "filler" services.

I dunno what's stopping theymos from removing signatures from the Jr.member Rank, He has already implemented it on the newbies should be a simple copy-paste.

Nice suggestion, Could counter the "1-merit for Jr.Member" suggestion from Hilarious.

P.S Who makes the rules around here Hilarious? Can we enforce something like Alone055 suggested? Or would it be considered abuse of power?

As a normal member we can't do anything more but report this kinds of connected accounts, if we are greater than the spammers out there and maybe add a few more mods the whole forum will be cleaned in no time, at least on how I see things. Also the idea of giving badges to reporters might encourage new members on reporting spam and wrongly posted messages, if this is soon implemented we will star to see that a the number of abuse would decrease and it might discourage spammers on posting shit again as they now know that the forum is highly monitored.

What evidence can be sure that is a Bot account?

I see the post history is normal even though I don't understand what is posted also I see the merit history (https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=Looden) is still normal.

Most of the bots are newbie and jr. Members,  i also encounterd one when i post some thing about blogging, after a day i saw a copy paste post and the best thing i have done is i toss that newbie account a red trust flag, because plagiarism is a crime. I just don't know if that account is a bot.  But it stops posting since i give him negative feedback.

There are ways and the bot operators are trying new ways to avoid them continually.

That account has been banned.
