Reading BitCoinTalk feeds best practices

Hi everyone, as you can see I'm a newbie here and I'm still trying to figure out best practices for reading the best topics and feeds.

What is your strategy, if you have any? How do you ensure you get to read the best content posted in the platform?

As a newbie on BitCoinTalk I am latching on to this to see where this thread goes! Personally I am always watching for topics around market economics, new ICO's and other industries.

Are there a core thread group that are key to keep an eye on?

Hey welcome to the forum.

I don't have any strategy at all when I'm viewing threads and topics here in the forum. I think the best content is where you are mostly interested and you are the only that can answer it.

Good question. Nowadays it's getting more difficult to find content wirth to read. Bitcoin/Altcoin discussion, Trading, Economics boatds are full of spam mega threads and I often have to browse several pages to find interesting topics. This is why I rarely visit these boards. If I see discussion threads with hundreds of these threads replies - I don't visit it because I know that it will be just a waste of time to read it. I recommend to skip these topics.
I recommend to visit Bitcoin Technical Support, Development & Technical Discussion, Serious Discussion and Ivory Tower boards - there you can find a lot of content which is worth to read. Also, one of indicators of interesting topic - it was made by well known Bitcointalk member who has good knowledge in that sphere.

you don't need a strategy for reading this forum
just open the subforum that you're interest in, browse the first 2-3 pages and read the one you want to read
this is a discussion forum, there will be some good and bad posts

There's no strategy needed. Bitcointalk is just an online forum that people can communicate with. Simply read probably as much as you want then just don't automatically believe everyone is saying, always fact check online.

As you see everyone has a different opinion based on his experience. I was also wondering in the beginning how to find the interesting threads, now we are lucky to have the merit system and you can easily see the recent merited posts or other stats like the top merited threads for the last 120 days(?).
Other tactic is to follow some of the good forum members and check their post history.
For example browsing trough theymos's post history I find quite interesting topics and discussions, and if you want to be up to date with the current forum situation just check him every day

Wow, thank you all for your input! Super valuable, and as iasenko mentioned, everyone has a different "strategy" or way to go through the forums, which I find amazing. I guess I'll take onboard these suggestions and stick to the ones that I find the most valuable
