I'm running Linux Mint 15, and whenever I try and run Electrum (this is after a fresh install) I get:

$ electrum
Exception in thread Thread-5:

    raise IOError("Cannot read wallet file.")
IOError: Cannot read wallet file.

I've reinstalled many times, rebooted, etc. Don't know what the problem is.

Okay well I figured out that the problem was my wallet.dat file was corrupted. I deleted it and created a new one from the seed I have memorized.

If you don't have your seed memorized don't delete your wallet file

Hope this helps if you are having the same problem as me.
