I see there are chips for sale from bitfury and I'm curious as to make something from them as I want to make something that covers quite a large volume (in comparison to normal miners)... I have a couple of raspberry pi's and old computers that I could dedicate to connect them to it to keep them running, but I'm not sure of any guides that are available for making such devices.

You should reach out to sidehack. I'm pretty sure this is the sort of thing they are into.

I recall them discussing that they were buying chips from somewhere, presumably to do something similar.

Yeah I was thinking about that! Form what I remember he was building hashing boards for S1-S4 so I wasn't sure he was as confident with the coding knowledge that would be needde (although I could buy a control computer for an S1 or something).
