Crypto Exchange Huobi Acquires Public Firm for $70 Million

Crypto exchange Huobi has become the largest shareholder of a public firm listed in Hong Kong, inching a step closer to a possible back-door listing.

Pantronics Holdings, the acquired firm, released a statement on Aug. 29 saying Huobi Group had completed the deal by purchasing about 199 million of its shares via two of the group's subsidiaries – Huobi Capital and Huobi Universal.

Huobi is becoming huge name in the cryptospace day by day, they are spreading their business targeting different different countries. Now this investment in the pantronics holding is one of their strategy and can help cryptospace in near future. Surely huobi will be no1 exchange in future as they have so many features in their exchange from OTC, Margin trading etc.

I use Huobi almost exclusively as it is the main exchange serving the coin STK.  I have had no real issues thus far.  I think they are also opening North American branches as well in the near future.

Huobi is an interesting crypto exchange and has reached great heights within a short period of time. Plus a lot of the people were unfamiliar with it, but now that it is making news, maybe it will get the attention it deserves. Because it is a great crypto exchange and user friendly too.

This is a great news for the people who are affiliated with Huobi. Not only this is a great exchange, it is easy to use too. But sadly, they are not having that wide reach in the market as it should. Maybe this will make this crypto exchange more popular in the market.

I think this is an old news and I have read it somewhere in this forum already. Huobi has been doing really great in recent times despite the fact that there has been some speculations regarding their registration and stuffs. But, that definitely didn't have a bad impact on their performance any way.

Huobi and OKex are still focused towards Chinese and east asian users. If they really focused on English, they'd be the immediate competitor of Binance. I don't mean they are now, but they are not still as global as binance.

I don't think the important part of the news lies in the acquisition of Pantronics by Huobi but rather how the deal has opened the door for Huobi with an opportunity to make back-door listings in the future. It will definitely change the game for the whole crypto exchange market and make it more competitive in the coming future.

Huobi is a very popular cryptos trading exchange that had a successful ICO and they must have made enough revenues from the exchange too to tender such amount of money to acquire a firm. But I still don't know how the firm is related to blockchain

Just goes to show that even smaller exchanges like Huobi are completely raking in the money. I guess it's only natural with there being so little competition in the field, and so much trading volume, looks like the real MVPs are those damn exchanges. Even with 0.1% or lower fees they still generate tens of millions per year.

Thanks for sharing this news till now I am not use it but I think its time to use it because it’s the largest share holders of public firms in hong kong. I also very optimistic because it completed deal of purchasing Huobi capital and universal.
