Hi All

What do you use for your bitcoin security, I have been looking into usb style password protectors, but don't know enough about them as to the trust that I should place in them.

Has anyone bought them and would you recommend them?

Many thanks

Airdrop291

I use the offilne wallet that I made on a special computer, I turn on the computer if I send coins to the exchange place and it is equipped with a firewall to avoid hackers, even though I can't guarantee my assets will be safe from hackers , many ways are done to hack crypto users' wallets, and if you use password security with USB as often as usb is stored in a safe place and not used for everyday needs, just use it when transacting

I heard someone say they have only the windows password as the only backup they use for their bitcoin, so my question is, is it really safe that way? Then again, can some security designed software be strong enough to secure your bitcoin? I know definitely that there are some antivirus software that can protect your computer from phishing sites and all that, but maybe a more dense layers of security will be needed to make sure cyber hackers find it impossible to hack into your network.

Hardware wallets are by far the best option when it comes to securing your coins the only disadvantage of a hardware wallet is that you need to pay for them but if you are holding a significant amount of bitcoin then you need to buy a hardware wallet, however if you cannot afford one there are several ways to secure your coins like creating a paper wallet or creating a wallet inside a USB that is encrypted and that you only connect to your computer when you want to make a transaction.

The very first thing that any Bitcoiner will need is a hardware wallet. This is something without which I personally can not imagine my day. This is what gives me security and confidence that my coins are always under my control.

I think you are talking about Ledger Nano S, the product that looks like a USB. I bought them and it is the perfect bitcoin archive. Nano S completely separate from the Internet and it can recover when you lose the Ledger or forget about losing your code pin.

Do you mean hardware wallets? Yes, they are of course. Based on some hardware wallets users they find it safe to store huge amount of cryptocurrency funds most especially Bitcoin on the wallet than those wallets that are available online either for mobile phones or for computers. The most popular are Trezor and Ledger Nano. A lot of users has good feedbacks from those brands so I think they are safe.

We must not guarantee bitcoin security 100% safe but we must be on guard if there is theft or robbery using an existing application on Google and that really helps me by securing my wallet and account and I am happy that I can keep it safe from people evil

Bitcoin has a great security just for example in the philippines they had a wallet called coins.ph it's easily for them to payout without any attraction will be get from the robbers because they will just get their money on the pawnshop and the wallet has a code so it will be hard for the hackers to get into it, that's why bitcoin is safe and secured I can't recommend you anything because like you I'm newbie too and just for a help I speak my idea about bitcoin.ph I hope it will help you  Smiley

Wallets are usually stored digitally, either locally or online, but there are more secure ways to store bitcoins. Your bitcoin "wallets" can be printed out and stored on paper. A paper wallet is a slip of paper with both your private and public keys printed on it.
I agree with you the important security of the wallet if the identity is no problem for me, so in my opinion, security must be more favored and must be developed with a qualified feature so that it cannot be stolen and broken down by criminals

I think that bitcoin have a high security. Bitcoin can be store in different wallet like here in my country we have coins.ph that you can store Fiat, bitcoin and ETH.
Bitcoin can also be store in offline wallet and you can secure your password and other stuff need to be secured.

In addition to the password on the exchange, you can use a cold wallet for storing Bitcoins, which is considered more reliable.
