If you are subscribed to at least one crypto channel in telegram, you have probably seen the advertising of groups that invite you to participate in their crypto pumps.

Many newbies wonder why is it impossible to earn anything with them? After all, everything seems very simple and reasonable, but where is the catch?

I've made an infographic describing in details what a user sees when he joins these groups VS what is ACTUALLY happening during such pumps.

Share this information with other members of the crypto community, especially with newbies.
The harder it is for scammers to deceive crypto users, the more people will feel confident and comfortable in the world of blockchain, which will help us take another small step towards popularization and bring the wonderful crypto future closer.

P.S. Initially, I've created this artwork in Russian, and then I've translated it into English. I'm not an English native speaker, so I've probably made some mistakes, feel free to tell me about them, if you wish, and I'll correct them.

Yup, nice infographic btw.
Don't believe in become rich quick scheme. Its always a scam.
Even investing in bitcoin is not that easy scheme to get rich. You must keep ur funds frozen in bitcoin for years before you make a profit (time between bubbles) so its a cost in itself, frozing ur funds.

People just have to used their "common sense" in order to battle the freaking sh*t activity on the internet.

I've seen some newbies doesn't taking any bait so it means being a newbie is not really the reason why others fall on the scheme of pump groups.

Good work btw to your wonderful infographics.

Totally easy to read and understand, thanks for the effort creating the infographics and for sharing it with the new members of the community. If these groups work is because there are many members that fail in the trap. Maybe they believe in this groups because they wouldn't do evil themselves, but remember that not everybody has the same values and standards.

Good info to share, I'll pin it in my favourites and share with my friends when they join the crypto-world.

That's easy to know. You win, they win so who lose? Market as a battlefield and traders are soliders. You don't know who is ally, who is enemy. So, believe yourself. Beware with all rumors!!!

Thank you for your great infographic and sharing.

I've also heard of groups like this on the telegram, and just found out that the scheme is like this.

In cryptocurrency, we cannot take action just based on hearing from people's words or groups, because they might have the intention to manipulate you,
you better just believe in yourself and always be careful and dont be greedy.

Thanks this is helpful. About that you explained it well enough for us to understand many of the scammers take advantage of telegram to scam. The next time opening telegram you would have seen new group that you are member even though you did not join.

The next time opening telegram you would have seen new group that you are member even though you did not join.

I also had the same problem, until I turned off the ability to add me to groups in my telegram settings.
Settings -> Privacy -> Groups -> My Contacts

Maybe it can help you too.

This is very true they use telegram to scam people nowadays. This is sad news to those who doesn't know how to prevent phishing site or getting scam by scammers and hackers.

I think it is hilarious that they are literally called "pump-and-dump" groups and people still follow them.

It's all about greed... You can profit a lot if you manage to buy before the pump and sell before the dump. The people who fall for this are the same ones who "invest" in those magical doublers and "trading bots" that generate 20% profit a day. If you manage to invest in the top of the pyramid, good for you... It not, bye bye money.

Nice work on that infographic! I think greed is a strong motivator for people participating in these pump groups but it usually doesn't work out like they think it will because it's rigged from the start. It's also noteworthy that many organizers will set price targets for their pump so they can set their sell orders in advance which will ensure they get out before the dump starts.

Yes, you could have bought it without any intention to sell during a pump, then you're lucky. But not to be late to sell you should already have your sell orders set, but I believe these pump-managers choose coins which don't have a lot of sell orders, so they will be able to sell more (and to earn more
accordingly).
