Thats a good share but I hope that you have transferred all your tokens and coins to the different wallet because if they were able to hack your wallet then they simply have the private key of your wallet. I am not sure what kind of virus is that which you call it as "cop-paste virus". I just see that you have been victim of the phishing site and nothing else. If you ever go to the MEW then you must check the https address. Thats the safe one. Now that your laptop is having this virus or may phishing sites then you should move on to next wallet.

There's some other options to make it safer mate, we can use ledger nano if we have much bigger budget. That's the only way prevent hackers to invade your privacy when you're got into virus attacks or any other problems with wallet security. Prevent the exposure of your wallet private keys towards the social media postings or any airdrop's unlegit sources so that you'll not be in trouble in the future losing your funds.

Here is something I usually do and it may help. I memorize the last 6 digits of my private key. Anytime I enter my private key I copy and paste the first half. Then I type in the last 6 digits. This way you copy and past some of it and type the rest. This may throw off the hackers.

Apart from visiting a phishing website it should be hard for any advance hacker to access your private key. If you still have some of your coins on your wallet then create a new one and transfer them to its as quickly as possible.

I'm thinking maybe you exposed your private address or that you signed up your Mew through a phishing site. You might as well reopen another if you still have some coins left in there.

I now have a similar situation. Someone periodically steals from my different MyEtherWallet wallets my tokens. I only use the bookmark of one browser and the site is not phishing. I changed passwords in my E-mail. I believe that the leak occurs only during the copying of the secret key code. Now I do not copy it at all even when creating a purse and enter it manually. If I only need to look at the contents of the wallet, I only use the function etherscan.io.

That is what I am thinking as well and that is the only way that you can get your MEW wallet hacked which also happened to my partner and the only way you can stop it is by changing wallet addresses. Also you can install metamask to make a second security and if you really want your wallet to be safe get an external wallet liiike ledger.

That's really bad how it is possible to find the copy board data. Google must give security patch for the every users they were using it. When they find any attack they should notify our email address that is actually the thing they should follow. Then there is any hacking how we can secure our copy board from them mate?

Yes, I guess using of the ledger nano hardware wallet can be beneficial in such conditions. They are completely virus free and there is no way they can get infected. Literally a function of wallet like that is very simple yet not hackable at all. If you would have been using the hardware wallet then there may not have been the virus, file etc which could go directly into the wallet and steal the private info at all. The hardware wallet connect to the wallet directly from chrome extension which is almost impossible to hack. So better go for it and have these things sorted out.

Everything is very strange. This person really transfers many tokens to this purse. So there are many postupeleniye to eth. But it is not clear from where the villain got accesses to purses, I believe you not his only victim. Or got on the phishing website, or it is a new type of a virus that is more dangerous to all of us.

This is not bad idea, but of you have 10-15 MEW's it will hardly work, or if your memory is so outstanding to remember all private keys - better to write up the last digits of keys on the paper and put in the safe ( better keep this data in several places )

I didnt understand exactly how the hacker got access to your MEW. Did you login from a phishing site or have you been keylogged or something. If the hacker has access to your private key why is he taking only parts of your tokens and not all at once for example?

Copy board virus is very stressful for thieves You probably clicked on a phishing link, or you made a signed signature in a fake Myetherwallet website Ensure to double check every email you get and never sign messages outseide Myetherwallet.com

Reading from what OP said this is done by infecting the victims computer. As various programs have access to your clipboard, there are programs that are specifically designed to swap what you copy and what you paste afterwards. Such small viruses are very common and are nothing new. But when you fail to double check everything or when you are using your day to day computer/OS you are vulnerable from such attacks. So this is the result why attacker haven't taken everything as he only tricked the user to send to wrong address, but ultimately he or she has no access to the private key.

I feel so sorry about your hack incidence, I will advise the community members to always use wallet that will make them not expose their private keys when making transaction, wallets like metamask, mycrypto desktop and the rest.
