Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I'm willing to bet Bitcoinica had at least a small effect on the price decrease.

wait..what does this mean?

I'm going out on a limb to guess that it means that the the prices that people are willing to buy something for in a market is closely related to the prices other people are willing sell it for? go figure.

However, I think the intention was to imply that the shorting bitconia provides isnt the cause of downward price pressure. I dont think it convinced me. Elaborate, pls.

Also, what's up with that name? Bitcoinia? Sounds like a lady vampire name to me. Like maybe Elvira's fatter, uglier sister or something?

Zhoutong, I thought the graphs were excellent. Thank you. However, of all of the combinations, the missing one would have been most valuable. Would you mind linking to a super-long log chart? Cheers!

Secondary click -> Open Image in New Tab, or simply save it.

The super-long chart is in log-scale.

Did you see it wrongly or are you asking for super-long linear?

This is what I saw too! Though it's still going down, it's a fairly smooth line until you get to the last few days.

I don't doubt it, but a chart of the price since bitcoinica opened isn't evidence of that any more than this morning's oil price is evidence of the power of a turd.
