I'm sorry if this is posted elsewhere but was just wondering why such a big discrepancy between the two?

I assume it could be due to the Intersango GBP transfer situation. Is there any way to exploit the drastic change?

Thanks

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

different exchanges often end up with discrepencies
many people take advantage of this to profit - some have even code trading bots to take advantage of this.
it is called arbitrage

Thank you for your reply Graet.

Any idea where I can obtain some free source code or free tutorials for bitcoin arbitrage bots?

Thanks
