I think it's going to take a bit longer than that to breach $1000 again.  That being said, I still think this MtGox situation is going to play out a bit like the Silk Road collapse.  MtGox has been a cancer to the ecosystem for a very long time.  It's demise is a good thing and has sped up professional infrastructure building (e.g. SecondMarket NYSE style exchange).
