I think MyEtherWallet is very safe or metamask sir.
And I was 3 years use MEW and till now still safe 
I suggest you put your private key in private folder, and I'm sure your wallet will safe.

I think most trustable wallet that is offonline types but actually you can use wallet of coins and use a anti-virus program and be carefull for hacking. I think it is really sufficent to prevent your coin in your regular wallet.

I am using now mycrypto wallet. They have a brand new website. Their owners are old owners from my etherwallet. and they have mycrypto client desktop wallet. That is huge opportunity for us about security and fast transactions without pending time.
