2. When will I get my bounty? -Or- Will you pay me a bounty for my new submission?

As indicated previously, all bounties are set within a maximum range. We will begin judging and paying bounties already accepted on February 27th.

As our dev team works diligently ahead of RubyCoin’s relaunch, we’d like to offer an initial explanation of what transpired last night.

RubyCoin’s network hash strength reached 5 G/H before we pulled the plug. Network forks in the blockchain did exist, however that problem could have been easily solved post launch. The decision to reset came from a desire for fairness.

Unfortunately, at least one mining pool began mining early due to a misunderstanding of the procedural launch agreement. As RubyCoin’s difficulty is recalculated with each block, this gave one group of miners an extremely unfair advantage. The RubyCoin team realized immediately there was only one reasonable measure to take: reset the blockchain to zero and reschedule a fair launch.

Other teams have made the mistake of allowing unwanted pre-mining in the past, but we felt a stand had to be taken. Our team is currently implementing new measures to ensure a fair and timely relaunch, we will inform you of the launch time by 5PM EST tomorrow, and we will provide at least 48 hours for you to prepare.

Numerous pre-buy orders last night indicate that RubyCoin is headed for high value and trade volume. We hope these decisions make clear the RubyCoin team is dedicated to this coin’s longevity above all else. With that in mind, we’re pleased to announce the details of our 100K relaunch giveaway:

- 10,000 RUBY: To be divided fairly among anyone who rented a mining rig or lost a night of mining, after providing reasonable evidence of losses to the RubyCoin team.
