I recently had two of my post deleted by a forum moderator, and I've been pondering on what grounds he/she might have done that.

I think now, the reason for deleting a post should come along with the notification.
And the user should be made aware of the rules he/she is supposedly breaking.

And admins, if possible could flag a post and message the user to delete it himself. Not this anonymous process, where you have no idea which moderator deleted your post.

Dude, just suck it up.  It's just a deleted post, and mods delete posts in bulk sometimes.  Having to include an explanation for each of them would be ridiculously time-consuming.  Most likely the post was insubstantial or off-topic.  I've had plenty of posts deleted, and I've never contested any of them that I can remember.

Since the title of this thread is so grammatically warped, my guess is that your post was a shitpost that got reported as such.  The rest of what you wrote isn't bad, so I'm just guessing here.  It'd be nice if you showed what got deleted.

And admins, if possible could flag a post and message the user to delete it himself.
Yeah, no.  Not a good idea.

It'd be nice if you showed what got deleted.

It was a post of me commending someone who posted a quite helpful video (his contribution seemed to go unnoticed). I wasn't aware that was against the rules. The second was an interaction under a post. And I merely stated my opinion.

The admins are paid for the service they render, so doing it properly is not a bad idea. Even if it means more work.

If you only post a link without any comment or explanation, then spam busters will mark your post as a link spam. Next time, try to provide more substantial value, not just a link or a short comment.

I didn't post any link, the user I commended posted the quite helpful link.
And where is it stated that one must make a long, drawn out comment?
Or do you just make up rules?

What's wrong with your attitude mate? Do you get severe butthurt just because of a deleted comment?

I don't know what the comment was exactly, but it sounds like you did a simple "Thanks" comment or something along those lines. They generally aren't accepted, and are considered low content. You don't necessarily have to make drawn out comments, but they need to have a point, and add to the discussion.

Deleted post is not a big deal, just move on if your post value is low quality then dont waste your time to complain, most newbie's gets a deleted post especially when someone report your post its because your post is either low quality or your post is already said by others.

Its just a deleted post its part of the system but its not a big deal, complain here if your post is super duper important that is never been posted here.

two of my post deleted by a forum moderator
Are the two posts from the below topics?
i'd like to start educating others about blockchain: main points?
Where can we discuss altcoin news?

It was a post of me commending someone who posted a quite helpful video (his contribution seemed to go unnoticed).
Given the above topics, I do not see why you need to say thank you for a certain reply or post, you are not the OP and thank you post is a form of spam. Does not contribute to the discussion.

In our local board, we have these reminder:
*Stop complaining and whining why the threads are difficult, these are not meant to be answered but to be read. You are not obligated to answer and it is not your duty to reply, It's not a survey.

*No need to thank a thread. "Thank you" posts in any form will be deleted unless you are the OP.

Learn from it.

Good luck!

See you around.

You're not paying the Admins anything, what makes you think you get to make demands?

I recently had two of my post deleted by a forum moderator, and I've been pondering on what grounds he/she might have done that.

Read the rules. Often you can work out what they were likely was removed for. However, I do think the deleted notification should be changed slightly, and a link to the rules provided as well, so again, people can try figure out why their post might have been removed. Most of the time users just aren't aware of the rules and the post may appear legit to the person who made it, but could have been a duplicate, double post, or in a necrobumped thread etc.

I think now, the reason for deleting a post should come along with the notification.
And the user should be made aware of the rules he/she is supposedly breaking.

An option for staff to leave a note or choose from a drop-down menu of the most common reasons would be helpful. Ie "double post", "off topic", "no ref links" etc.

And admins, if possible could flag a post and message the user to delete it himself.

Nah. Most users won't do it and if it's against the rules then staff should just remove it.

Not this anonymous process, where you have no idea which moderator deleted your post.

It should be anonymous. Staff members would just be hassled if it told you who deleted it. I sometimes even get angry messages asking why a post was removed even though it had nothing to do with me but users assume it was me because my username is on that sub-board. Thank yourself you even get a notification though. On many other forums you don't and your post just disappears with you being completely unaware.

As others have said, it it was just a 'thanks' then that maybe why.
