Quoting is only used when you're replying to another user within the topic, IMO. But if its just giving some comments about the OP, I think so too, it's not necessary to use it.

As for the OP, investments depends on every individual not necessarily because of their differences in nations but their own judgement to the market. So, yeah, It's kinda disrespectful if someone's keep on bullying you for having a small amount of investment.
