I just built three rigs using 280x cards. Each rig has a different brand of 280x. My one rig of five cards runs stable under Windows 8.1 but when I run it under Ubuntu the screen freezes and mining stops. I have to reboot the computer to start it again.

I though maybe I had a bad Ubuntu installation so I cloned the hard drive of one of my stable Ubuntu rigs and installed it. Same thing. After about ten minutes my screen goes red and freezes.

Anyone have any idea why? I would just keep it on Windows 8.1. but, I can't get the hash rate past 550 kh/s. Whereas in Ubuntu I get over 720 kh/s
