Yah seriously, if there's one thing I'd expect a bitcoin trade group -- such as The bitoin foundtion -- to do, it would dealing with PR stuff like this. The fact that The bitcoin foundation continually balks at opportunities like this is definitely one of the top three reasons I don't give them money. |
The printing press heralded the end of the Dark Ages and made the Enlightenment possible, but it took another three centuries before any country managed to put freedom of the press beyond the reach of legislators. So it may take a while before cryptocurrencies are free of the AML-NSA-KYC surveillance plague.

This is the first time i heard of a case where this happened. I don't think it will affect the public discourse since child pornography is already frequently mentioned alongside money laundering and financing terrorism.

Euros are being used by children to buy AK47s. What the Hell, VICE?
They did a fantastic video miniseries on various places you want to see but not physically visit, though, which I recommend to everyone. I'm now starting to doubt whether there was any factual accuracy and even wondering if they went to places they claimed, but it's still entertaining.
