I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a new email marketing service platform?
With Mailchimp's ban on any crypto related emails, I've had difficulty sending out weekly newsletters.
Is there any other platform that is crypto-friendly? Or maybe someone can suggest a workaround Mailchimp's Omnivore software?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Hi Alphian,

I have experience with both "dinosaurs" of email marketing world. Namely Getresponse and Aweber. I prefer Getresponse slightly more, I find their interface bit better and their pricing is better (at least for person starting out). But for seasoned marketer Aweber is cheaper, as e.g. for email lists of 5k-10k Aweber is almost $100 a month cheaper (Getresponse $165/month, Aweber $69).

I contacted support of both providers and found out that Getresponse banned crypto related emails and content as per their terms of service too.
Aweber, on the other hand confirmed, that crypto related content is allowed (as of writing this)

hope this helps

^ I won't do this one, buying of a list of emails online is a risky move as it might label all emails coming from you as spam and as for a man doing email marketing you never want your emails to be labeled out as spam by spam filters, your promotions would really be nothing by that point on. Email marketing in the first place is really a risky way to promote your business as you have to comply a lot of prohibitions of CAN-SPAM and observe everything from the header of your email to the persons subscribed in your mailing list, as even an IP address who has been used to spam will label the rest of the emails you are sending as spam emails.

Hi, I didn't mean that you buy list of users for a monthly fee (which wouldn't make sense, as it would be renting not buying).

I meant, that if you created list of subsribers (or moved) your monthly payment to the email client services is as per the list size. So if you own list of 7000 interested individuals, you would pay accordingly to that (on Aweber $69, as example).

Do you know what I mean?

Drip is another email platform that's okay with crypto emails.

I'm not cool enough to have a fancy signature so you're stuck reading this

Most email platforms have put a ban on crypto emails. As suggested Aweber and Drip are currently two of the main ones that still allow it, but that can change overnight.

If you have a website, you can send right from there. For example, for WordPress there are a lot of plugins for it.
Yes, but with WP you are limited with the numbers of emails you can send per day. Usually the hosting provider allows something like 500 emails daily which is too low if you want to do any serious email campaign. I found this link https://nicebrains.com/technology/mailchimp-alternatives/ for alternative mail marketing services. AWeber is the most popular alternative. Just make sure they allow crypto-related mails. Good luck.

We are working with getresponse. Changed recently. But I wouldn’t say they are a perfect platform. Many functions are much less advanced than Mailchimp

It is the same with many of the other alternatives. Mailchimp is almost perfect email marketing tool. You can have as many as 2,000 subscribers to your list and send 12,000 emails per month for FREE. No other service can come close to this. They have recently introduced free automation too. It is a shame they don't want to send crypto related mails.

Yeah I actually think this is a huge mistake on their part. They're opening themselves up to some competition in a vibrant industry. Mailchimp would be a powerhouse if they allowed crypto emails.

That's a bummer. But, a google search produced these guys: https://emailoctopus.com/for-cryptocurrency I have never heard of them but they claim to like crypto related topics. They offer a free plan for 2,500 subscribers so it may be possible try with them and see how it goes.

SendGrid is an alternative for MailChimp with a free plan. I don't know if they are crypto friendly though.

They kinda are. Actually, they are used by Coinbase for their emails.

MailChip also said thay they aren’t necessarily against crypto: https://mobile.twitter.com/mailchimp/status/979464730430529536

I'm actually putting together a new site offering email marketing and automation on the Mautic platform, which rivals MailChimp and the likes of Hubspot, Marketo and Zoho. There's a fairly good (but slightly out-of-date) comaprison to MailChimp here: https://www.marketingautomationinsider.com/mailchimp-vs-mautic/

My mid-range package is going to be $79/month with one-time setup of $100, for which you get:

  • Mautic hosted on a dedicated cloud server as a sub domain of your domain
  • Three custom email templates - transactional email, general marketing email, and newsletter
  • 1 dedicated IP address
  • Unlimited contacts
  • Up to 150,000 emails per month (must be opted-in)

It's basically an all-inclusive hybrid of my packages at https://accentdm.com/mautic-hosting-implementation-services/.

And, unlike my mainstream site, I will be accepting BTC, BCH, LTC or ETH as well as fiat.

PM for further info or with questions.

Feel like you should try Convertkit - they allow crypto content as long as it's not spammy, misleading, or presented as a get-rich-quick type scheme.

See their Acceptable Use Policy for more detailed information.
https://help.convertkit.com/en/articles/3038130-acceptable-use-policy

In case you're not a particular fan of Convertkit due to their UI or automation functionalities, check out an extensive list of email marketing platforms at https://www.profitfromtech.com/best-email-marketing-software/ to find some alternatives.

Hope that helps!

The problem with MailChimp and other email marketing tools is that they are considered to be spamming. I have used hubspot for crypto-related marketing and it works fine.
