Two of the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization are now trading at their lowest level in a year.

Ethereum, the world's second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, fell to its lowest price since 2017 on Wednesday, a development shared by Cardano, the world's ninth largest by market capitalization.

At 16:00 UTC, during the middle of Wednesday's trading period, the cryptocurrency ether dropped to $211 for the first time since July 30, 2017, while Cardano dropped to levels not seen since last year according to CoinDesk price data.

This is not really a good look for both of these coins especially now that their prices are falling when the price of bitcoin is not falling. If they were following the trend of bitcoin then we would understand. This has led me to think that there is some kind of manipulation happening behind the scenes of both coins. Hopefully the prices start to recover.

I agree with the manipulation.  I believe this entire rise and dump was an orchestrated plan by a government or banking agency.  They have especially attacked Ethereum and Cardano.  Cardano is looking just about as bad as Ethereum at this point.  Not sure when to step in even further as they just keep crashing.

In my opinion, these coins are no longer "fly to the moon", their time has passed, and their place was taken by other, more promising, coins

Do you think now is the best time to start buying crypto-currencies? or will the market continue to fall even lower?

I think that nothing good will happen this year and it is only worth waiting for

Ethereum took quite a hit in the past few months. It's at a good price to fill the bags for staking Smiley

Best way to LONG/SHORT Bitcoin. Up to 66x leverage. Register on BitMax now!

Now a huge infrastructure is being built for investors with "bags of money". Guys, have patience, maybe a bear market will be for a long time (maybe half a year, maybe a little more). But I think you understand that growth is not avoided, that the crypto-currencies will not disappear, but will develop. And when there is development, there will be a price increase. Now more than 1900 coins and tokens, this is a lot, so much is not needed, 90 percent of the fraud created during the period from 2016-2018, I hope for the coming year they will finally die and truly fundamental and promising projects will remain.

I still have high hopes on both of them, but particularly more on ADA, I prefer more recent projects as they seem to have greater capabilities of growing.
