More than 90% of ICO passes on Ethereum platform and therefore EOS will not be able to take its place in near future. Compare their capitalization, at the moment Ethereum has 20 billion and EOS has 4.5. It is possible that in distant future capitalization of EOS will grow, but most likely it will grow with total capitalization of crypto marketplace, which means that cost of most coins will grow too. At the moment Ethereum platform has no worthy competitors. But I don't think its price will reach $1000 this year.

look at the market, the eos market cap lags far from ethereum and this difference is very difficult to pursue. indeed eth is collapsing, but it's not the right reason for other altcoins to take second place from eth.

Well, let's see in the next 3 days if this dumps will continue then this will make the ETH investors into panic selling. Although as for me this is again a good opportunity to buy good coins at lower price. Waiting for the bottom.

I guess the answer has already been seen. We have ended up hitting below $200 and presently trading around $196 which I am still sure may not actually be the end of it all. The market is actually fond of behaving in funny ways anyway, so no one can really know what is going to end up coming at any certain point in time.

Like someone already mentioned, assuming for the future is more like worrying yourself about what you obviously cannot see. However, the market wants to go, I guess it would only bring about more opportunity to buy more and make money in the long run anyway.

EOS is pulling a lot of crowd with the moves they are making and i'm going to agree with you that taking second place from eth is a possibility. But if they tow the same path eth has, it will still meet its demise. i feel eth will still recover though as the markets are generally bad and every altcoin is affected. lets see what the end of 2018 brings. i'm optimistic.

EOS may be pulling a lot of crowd but as far as I am concerned, whatever the outcome of the future is going to be; only time will tell. The fact that Ethereum is going down now, does not mean it is the end of it.
The whole market is going down and that shows pretty well that things are not actually that solid in terms of smart moneys coming in yet. However, what the prices and the position of ETH is going to be or if EOS will be overtaking it, is something we should just leave to time.

Well, all that is based on assumption and hope as no one really knows what the end of 2018 is going to hold. Although for some time now, we have been seeing the market trying to make some move to the upper side, most especially for some of the altcoins, but ETH has really felt more of the impact hugely and pretty fast among the top 10 coins. Hopefully like you said, since we still have some months left to complete this year, maybe by the end of the year, we may actually see some good growth.

Definitely not the bottom honey. Really funny and sad at the same time how people think that this is the end for Ethereum. So far, there are no signals or prerequisites for the fact that the crypto-currencies will start growing in price by the end of the year, it is possible that the capitalization will remain at the same level or lower. Once the EOS platform will used to launch the ICO, then maybe it will be able to compete with Ethereum but not before that.

Such a situation with the Etherium is a gift for me, I was exchange all altcoins in which I stopped believing on the Ethereum while it is very cheap. As for EOS, I think that this year it is not able to beat any record.

For a while XRP replaced the ethereum in the second place of the coinmarket cap bus soon the ethereum recovered soon and headed pass over little bit with the ripple but still the market cap values of ripple and ethereum at small differential range,but I hope ethereum will recover more and more and will give no room for the ripple to compete the second position of the market cap value.

I agree with the fact that Ethereum will most likely lose its second place in terms of capitalization, but this place will be occupied not by EOS, but by Ripple (XRP). Already, the difference in capitalization between these coins is insignificant.

Ethereum has big big potential for sure and i think that below 200 was perfect entry as it was the ultimate bottom for this cycle now on the weekly chart we can see reversal candles, for me the bullish targets will be 500, then 800 then we have resistance around 1000 and finally 1400, i hope by end of this year we will atleast see 1000 eth again.

We cannot tell if it is the  bottom or not for ETH but probably  it is near to it. Me also think it is a perfect entry point for ETH
around $200 . The reason for it is that ETH is undervalued at the moment and facing some problems with it`s development.
When the problems will be sold ETH could have a good run again.
