Sideway chart pattern - Distribution or accumulation

Hi to all TA expertise,

When the chart pattern is in sideway movement, how do we determine whether the coin/token is in distribution position or accumulation position?

For coin, what should we refer?
For token, is it to monitor its source of its smart contract? either eth etc?
