Let’s face it ladies and gentlemen, we all love Bitcoin right? However, we notice ourselves that every single day, we have our own habits in our daily lives. However, it all changed when we expose ourselves too much in Bitcoin and in the world of cryptocurrency.

Without further ado, I will share to you the common “signs and symptoms” that you are suffering from Bitcoin addiction:

1. Your Google Chrome/Firefox/Safari browser always have a tab reserved for CoinMarketCap

Hahaha!! I am so, so, so guilty of this one! When I was working or browsing with some stuff, I noticed that CoinMarketCap tab is present for most of the time. You know why? It is because the volatility of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are so high, in which the price could change drastically whether if moons or dips.

I don’t know about you guys, though. Unless if you are a Bitcoin day trader, you would always reserve a tab for CoinMarketCap.

2. You are not excited in conversations unless if it’s about Bitcoin, blockchain, etc.

Ever since I engaged myself into cryptocurrency, I started to become passionate with it. However, I started to notice that when my family and friends are talking about their interests, I’m starting to get bored and may only socialize a little with them. However, when someone is mentioning about Bitcoin, blockchain, etc., my excitement level increases to talk more about that.

I know you guys are feeling the same thing, but not all, it depends.

3. You are excited when you hear the word “moon”

Of course, of course, of course!!! I love it when I hear that word “moon” because it is all about profiting from my Bitcoin investment. Not only Bitcoin though, but other coins and tokens as well that I am engaging with.

Every time I hear it, it’s like I cannot wait to check the charts once again. How about you guys?

4. Checking the price and charts is the first thing to do when you wake up and before you sleep

I am super, super, super guilty of this! I usually sleep around 2 AM to 3 AM, and before I sleep and turning off my Macbook Air, I check the price first. And when I wake up, I opened it and check CoinMarketCap immediately. Lol

I just don’t know if you guys are having the same habit as me, but it is what it is when we are having too much exposure with Bitcoin, blockchain, etc.

Are you suffering from Bitcoin addiction? Well then, welcome to the club! Wink

Yeap, number one and four are so true for an addict of bitcoin.  Grin
Having coinmarketcap app around is usually the case for most people or other app to check price. Off course, you need to monitor your business to know how healthy or sick it is.

But, for number four, I usually do not check on a daily basis before sleeping. I believe I can't change what will be. Hmm... Maybe I'm not much of a chronic addict....

On the contrary to number three, I think moon is used mostly for altcoins especially on telegram (although moon and bullish are same thing).

Ignoring your friends and family, withdrawing from social interaction, and being obsessed about price charts are not health habits to be developing. Addiction is not something to be laughing and joking about.

You sound like you need to take a break from crypto, re-engage with your social networks and develop or re-develop other interests and hobbies.

This thread made me laugh Cheesy thanks for brightening my day. I'm a bit addicted to cryptocurrencies and often catch myself checking my market tracking app.

It's the sad truth that most of us probably are addicted in some way. I definitely spend far too much time checking up on prices and it's the first thing I think of when I wake up. Those 8 hours without knowing are pretty tough times!

I really think it is just instinct whether there is a money involve sure thing a person will sure stick to it, If he could get profit then why not if he gets addicted to it, As long as it is not illegal to get, Well depending on the country But we can surely sure that this is what most people's motive for bitcoin addiction and I can not call it addiction for nothing if they will get something good for doing it then I call it earning, Because if a hubby doesn't get you a profit or has risk in doing it then that can  be call addiction.

It's pretty BS in the first place. Most of those characteristics aren't signs of addiction at all. Not because I have a CMC tab open all the time it doesn't automatically mean I'm addicted, etc. A different title might be more fitting that calling it straight-off addiction.

1,3 & 4 is really suited for me because of addiction i am always check my portfolio whole day and open exchanges websites. also talking with friends about bitcoins on social media sites. because of bitcoin and crypto i am going far from outdoor activities and less interaction from my local friends also my family is asking what kind of work u are doing. but i need to take a break from crypto in this bearish market and concentrate on health and social interaction because addiction of any habit is bad.

I feel this topic quite funny. This is an interesting question. I agree with the signs you give. Also, I do not sleep on time. I often focus on price charts whenever I invest in any kind of electronic money

i think this nonsense started the first time with some company starting up some money grab program from gullible newbies calling it "cryptocurrency addiction". they were saying it is a clinic that "treats" this addiction. LOL.
it was funny now and it is still funny. it is like saying if you have fiat then you are a fiat addict, if you open your wallet and see cash in it then you need to be treated. come pay us money to treat your addiction Cheesy

There is a FOMO brewing...

I won't say its a form of addiction to me though because addictions are always hard to break. In my own case, its more of anxiety when I first got into crypto and I manage to have some satoshis saved up. Its was an experience I don't want to go back to. I tend to check my wallet every hour to be sure its still there, monitor the bitcoin price every now and there in other to follow my 'wealth' movement and decide whether its time to sell or rejoice. At the point every of the four factors up there apply to me on a large degree.

But now, you tend to exercise some discretion now and take things more slowly and see things unfold. Its then safe to assume that since there is no addiction to making money, its bitcoin anxiety that is being interpreted as addiction and mostly common to new entrants into the market.

The post is very interesting, it is very similar to my habits. In fact, Bitcoin has a lot to do with my daily mood, I'm happy, I'm saddened by Bitcoin. Check Bitcoin prices, make Bitcoin topics, etc. I would like to contribute to your post, part 2 we should care more about family and friends. Of course we must focus on work, but do not affect family and friends, must treat them well. In addition, I joined the Bitcoin-related social networks Altcoins to study, share and help each other about virtual currency.

According to these 4 signs,  I am a cryptocurrencies addicted. But I don't think it's bad. I am enjoying this addiction because I think getting involved in cryptocurrencies has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Crypto addiction treatment wtf? What do they do? Make you stare at a dollar bill 8 hours a day to get the crypto out of you? LOL. That's next level gullibility.

And let me guess, it was selling?

I'd also add that a crypto addict is very nervous and overall not nice towards others when his investments aren't going as planned. But when prices go to the moon he is overexcited and wants to hug everyone around.
