Let’s face it ladies and gentlemen, we all love Bitcoin right? However, we notice ourselves that every single day, we have our own habits in our daily lives. However, it all changed when we expose ourselves too much in Bitcoin and in the world of cryptocurrency.

Without further ado, I will share to you the common “signs and symptoms” that you are suffering from Bitcoin addiction:

1. Your Google Chrome/Firefox/Safari browser always have a tab reserved for CoinMarketCap

Hahaha!! I am so, so, so guilty of this one! When I was working or browsing with some stuff, I noticed that CoinMarketCap tab is present for most of the time. You know why? It is because the volatility of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are so high, in which the price could change drastically whether if moons or dips.

I don’t know about you guys, though. Unless if you are a Bitcoin day trader, you would always reserve a tab for CoinMarketCap.

2. You are not excited in conversations unless if it’s about Bitcoin, blockchain, etc.

Ever since I engaged myself into cryptocurrency, I started to become passionate with it. However, I started to notice that when my family and friends are talking about their interests, I’m starting to get bored and may only socialize a little with them. However, when someone is mentioning about Bitcoin, blockchain, etc., my excitement level increases to talk more about that.

I know you guys are feeling the same thing, but not all, it depends.

3. You are excited when you hear the word “moon”

Of course, of course, of course!!! I love it when I hear that word “moon” because it is all about profiting from my Bitcoin investment. Not only Bitcoin though, but other coins and tokens as well that I am engaging with.

Every time I hear it, it’s like I cannot wait to check the charts once again. How about you guys?

4. Checking the price and charts is the first thing to do when you wake up and before you sleep

I am super, super, super guilty of this! I usually sleep around 2 AM to 3 AM, and before I sleep and turning off my Macbook Air, I check the price first. And when I wake up, I opened it and check CoinMarketCap immediately. Lol

I just don’t know if you guys are having the same habit as me, but it is what it is when we are having too much exposure with Bitcoin, blockchain, etc.

Are you suffering from Bitcoin addiction? Well then, welcome to the club! Wink
Well then according to these signs I am not addicted to bitcoin. Albeit I am a huge believer of BTC and a keen crypto enthusiast.
The sign is partially true. Although I don't have a the coinmarketcap tab opened always, I do have a bookmark so that I can open it in a jiffy.
The second sign is not true at all since I do listen to what people say. This is how we get to know others.
The third sign is definitely not true. I never get excited when I hear the term 'moon' since I believe in potential growth of BTC and not a pump and dump.
The fourth point is completely true since I keep checking the price of BTC along with other alts on a regular basis and definitely the first thing in the morning.

looking for information about the market, and also hunting prizes. I stopped only when I slept, I did not do other activities other than bitcoin...

Lol..... You've really killed it with this post. 1 and 4 works for me as I do that like all the time. I need to confirm the worth of what I'm holding each time in order to decide the next action to take. Bitcoin and blockchain technology has really knocked me off.

I think the word “addiction” is not the right term to be used. Any single one of us that reads this post has found his/her way into the bitcoin community. It’s about sharing all our stories regarding the entire crypto space. Sharing One big “passion”. Which brings me to the , in my opinion, correct term: Passion

every day I see a new weird thing in bitcoin community which can not be found anywhere else! the community is pretty innovative when it comes to creating weird content Cheesy

"bitcoin addiction"? what the hell is that? are you an addict if you use fiat every day? or know the value of the fiat you are holding? no you are an addict if you use that fiat in abusing manner such as gambling with it.
bitcoin is the same. things OP describes are not bitcoin addiction, they are addiction to other things such as gambling. for instance someone who has a tab open checking price of different altcoins every second has no idea what trading truly is and how it works so he has to constantly check to see if his bets (since they are not investments) have won him any money or did you lose some more.

I live on the blockchain so can't stay away unless I am killed by the bears and I can't live on it anymore. I have all my browsers full with all things crypto and my entertainment at night is watching silly Youtube videos of everyone making their predictions on Bitcoin prices and pimping their favorite shit coins to get their followers in to dump on them. So much fun I have in crypto, that's why I love Bitcoin, even though I barely have any now due to being wiped out in this horrible trashy bear market. I still live in a remote hope we might see a moon in my lifetime lol and yes, I am a true addict.

is this seriously legit? like really? Is it because bitcoin is getting a lot of attention and people are too obsessed about it? Im actually speechless about this.

It's pretty BS in the first place. Most of those characteristics aren't signs of addiction at all. Not because I have a CMC tab open all the time it doesn't automatically mean I'm addicted, etc. A different title might be more fitting that calling it straight-off addiction.

The title should go like this. Our habitual engagement in cryptos.

Well I think that most suit rather than addiction since I don't want that negative connotation. Like for me this is a sort of kind of habit to our every day lives and you just didn't notice how it affect us.

On the other hand, I'm guilty of no. 1 and 4 but no. 2 isn't right since we also need to socialize to others even we all have different perspective. Just hang out with them and have fun. As they say, we only live once.

Just forget crypto for a moment, just chill and take a break once in a while.

Ok, then I am fine, because the first thing I do when I wake up is to take a piss and to brush my teeth.  Grin

I have to admit, I do fire up a quick Preev.com to check the price so I am almost addicted to Bitcoin, but I am not to worried about that, because it is a good vice, if you have to have one.  Grin

You talk about Bitcoin addiction, as if it is supposed to be a bad thing. I cannot see why it should be a bad thing. Let's be honest, there are a lot of other things you can be addicted to, that is much worst than a Bitcoin addiction.  Tongue

I'm guilty of 1 and 4, but I doubt that they can be described as anything even remotely close to addiction. It's totally normal to check how your investment/currency is doing on a daily basis, especially if this investment/currency is highly volatile. I'm sure that people who trade stocks do this every day, including checking charts after waking up.

every day I see a new weird thing in bitcoin community which can not be found anywhere else! the community is pretty innovative when it comes to creating weird content Cheesy

"bitcoin addiction"? what the hell is that? are you an addict if you use fiat every day? or know the value of the fiat you are holding? no you are an addict if you use that fiat in abusing manner such as gambling with it.

Anything can be an addiction if it negatively impacts someone's life. I can easily imagine people wasting hours everyday on reading crypto news, analysis and other crap that doesn't matter in the long run, stress themselves over the price, and then feel bad for spending so much time unproductively.

I am interested in point No. 2, as all our habits can be replaced, and our interest only focuses on the interests of bitcoin. How it can replace our habits that we have done years before.

According to these 4 signs,  I am a cryptocurrencies addicted. But I don't think it's bad. I am enjoying this addiction because I think getting involved in cryptocurrencies has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Of course, majority of us will fall on this signs. Maybe I don't consider myself addict but more of a crypto enthusiast to say the least. I will immediately jump if I hear some discussions about bitcoin, but sadly I haven't heard anyone talks bitcoin in public in our place so I try remain quiet about the subject matter. Though I try to explain what's keeping me busy lately, but they don't f*** care.  Grin

Well I believe this is the real attraction of Bitcoin. The worst part is you can’t leave these habits. Most of the time you will be conscious about the market facts and will pray for progress of the price

Wink

Well technically there are some ways to determine your addiction in bitcoin. Let me break it down to you, 1st of many is that buying it whenever you think of it. Secondly, spending most of your time in this system. Third is putting all you have in bitcoin despite uncertainty. Lastly is when your health being affected in a bad way.

I find your post really interesting and useful even a bit funny) To my mind, it is better to choose btc if trading but not become addicted because any kind of addiction is a bad thing which will bring nothing good

My past self did number 1,3, and 4. In my early crypto days, I used to obsessed with marketcap. Probably because it was the easiest parameter to understand. But now after seeing the whole scene for a few years, I know that market cap doesn't mean so much. I was actively looking for smallcap coin on the rise.

I also used to addicted to Bitcoin price movement. I don't know why, it's not that I hold a significant amount of BTC. Probably because price action was more interesting in the past. Everything feels boring and usual when you've seen how BTC drop from $20K to $6K Cheesy These hundreds dollar candlestick is nothing compared to what I've seen before.

As for talking about Bicoin, blockchaim, or crypto, I always avoid talking on those topics in real life. I would rather known to be someone who know nothing about crypto in real life.
