P.S, I'm not against someone's country, the video is just a great example.

It's also an issue here in my country, rape was all over the news. There was no week that will pass by without seeing any news about rape. It's becoming the new normal, and we, sometimes are blaming women for giving men the sexual urge.

But is it enough to blame them?

Added an incident that recently happened in my country - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5020626.msg45318536#msg45318536

Normally, if given a choice to do something and nothing, I choose to do nothing.
But I will do something if it helps someone else to do nothing.
I'd work all night if it meant nothing got done.

Enough? It is WRONG to blame women or any rape victim! There is never, ever, ANY excuse for raping someone! It is wrong, it is a crime and only the rapist is reponsible for the rape!

I hope I was clear enough!!

It's also an issue here in my country, rape was all over the news.

Which country? Do you believe the opening of borders has contributed to the rape problem in recent years?

You cannot blame women.  Why would you want to blame a victim?

It does not matter if it is India, Germany, Pakistan or Sweden.

Imagine if someone beat up a guy senseless, and used this as his defense: "Well, I did not like how the guy look at me so I had an urge to beat the shit out of him".  You clearly, at least I hope, see who is the victim and who is the perpetrator.

Why is it hard for some people to apply the same logic to a sexual assault?

We should either have life sentences or death penalties for rapes.  The damage these cause are permanent and lifelong.

Opened the video, listened to the first guy being interviewed and closed the video. I cannot understand how people can still think like that in 2018 (think like that regardless of the given year for that matter). It makes me sick that rape is not seen as rape in certain places. Hope people come to their senses one day.

Why enough? We don't need t blame the victims of rape. We should blame those people who have guts to do such inhumane act. Here in our country, this issue is always something that we talked about. Sadly, people here in our country are blaming those victims of rape because of their reavealing clothes. But also here in our country there's a tribe where women don't wear bra but no one of them got rape. It is because that men in their tribe respect women. That's something that lacks in us right now. We should blame those persons who do the act as if they have respect with other, they would not totally do it.

If this world did not work to stop rape crime, then respect to women will gradually disappear. Time goes by that trusting anybody will never ever happen.

Seems like a global problem and rising with each passing day Cry

"Men who rape tend to start young, in high school or the first couple of years of college, likely crossing a line with someone they knows. Some of these men commit one or two sexual assaults and then stop. Others — no one can yet say what portion — maintain this behavior or even pick up the pace."

This is one of the main reason stated in a research paper.
With each passing day every one's life is getting more complex resulting in some inhumane behavior and unfortunately it ill tend to rise.

Can't find any reliable source about this news on the internet, just this one - http://meg.onemega.com/gang-rape-victim-blaming-filipina/

There was an incident of gang rape recently in my hometown, it went viral because there's a video. A 15/16 year old girl raped by four teenage boys, one is already 18, and mostly of the younger generations blamed her for being raped.

My nephew showed me the video of the alleged gang rape scandal, the video was short, and you can't even clearly see the girl's face. The girl wasn't crying on the video, she just consistently cursed and told them to stop, and she looks out of breath. The video went viral, and there was a debate about it between my nephews and nieces. It was the girl's fault, they said, but only one didn't agree. And majority of netizens in my country blamed her too.

Their own basis why they blamed her;

-She shouldn't have accepted the invitation of random people when she was asked to drink with them.
-She wasn't crying on the video, and she never resisted.
-She reported it late and only after the video went viral.

My own basis for not blaming her;

-Although the girl was conscious, she was drunk and out of breath, and she couldn't even move a single muscle.
-She verbally resisted.
-Those boys are much stronger.

My mind went blank when I heard their opinions about it, I just told myself; f*ck these kids for not showing any sympathy.

The majority of younger generation, and netizens in my country already concluded that it was the girl's fault. This kind of thinking will never stop until we educate them. If this will go on, sooner or later, the word sympathy will just be a word.

This is the main reason why we should educate those kids. But honestly, I never had the strength to explain it to my nephews and nieces. I might break their "fairytale-like" life even further.

It should be taught in schools, here in my country, but it will never happen because of religion.

You can't blame women for the urge that all men's having. That's just wrong!! Women never want to be raped. Just because women wear short pants or tank top or other sexy clothes, doesn't mean we want to be raped and it doesn't justified the fact that men raped women because of that reason. That doesn't make any sense.

I disagree to your reason. Religion can help to workout the said situation. There must be cooperation with the higher department of education to solve this crime. Remember that values does influence the youth if and only if the government will let them to implement new rules.

Explicit content of sex has been made pervasive so much that people are willing to emulate these practices with the women folk being the victims of the emulation of this explicit sex. This is not to say rape wasn't in existence before the recent overt portrayal of sex

Statistics prove otherwise, countries which condemn open sexuality and pornography tend to have the highest rape rates. Rape was part of history ever since the beginning of time. The topic should be discussed openly so people stay informed. There really is no excuse for that, but if we do not discuss it, nothing will change.

I dont know how can we even have discussion about this ,if you are doing something against someones will especially if other one is weaker you are cunt and worst kind of criminal and you have to be punish for your consequence, im definitvly for harder punishment for those kind of people.
But I know a lot of cases where woman lies about been rape because she got drunk as fu*k and go to bed with some stranger for sex with her own will and after that say she was rape..., i have one other exsample my friend rent hooker for sex and after that he refuse to pay her so she sue him for rape and he got 2 years jail prison ,he would get harder punishment but the judge saw she was punish before for prostitution and prostitution is punish by law in my countrey and there were no evidence of violence on her ,so he gave him only 2 years he got out in one year and couple of months

It's all about advertising products and services to make money.

Years ago, a woman remained in her parents' home until she got married. After she got married, she remained in husband's home. The men who loved her - father and husband - protected her from rape.

Then the advertisers came along. But they couldn't get the men to buy as easily as they could the women. So, they went about liberating the women from the protection of their men.

Women have been seduced into the open so that advertisers can sell more products. Since the woman goes out there and chases the products, she has made herself ripe for rape. In fact, she has essentially invited rape.

Of course, when it is invited, it isn't really rape. But, the women don't understand that they have invited it, so without understanding, maybe it is rape after all.

Why you hate women so much?  It cannot be just your Bible brainwashing talking...

I'm guessing you are smaller than 6", am I right, or am I right? LOL.

You are probably sexually frustrated as you never could satisfy a woman so you turned to religion to help you deal with your health issues.

Put down that Bible and work that little man in the boat.  Be happy you little weirdo.

Invited rape?  You have no idea what you are talking about.

You have reached the moral bottom, even for the religious freak like you.

Would you feel the same way if men were raped.  What about unarmed guys being shot dead?  They invited it too?

There is absolutely never any excuse to rape someone, man or woman.  I always hear the excuse, "they were asking for it," people say.  I do not accept that someone can't control themselves simply because of what a woman is wearing.  How can people be so fucking pathetic and even attempt to use that as an excuse?  It's like saying "they were asking to be robbed, they shouldn't have been wearing such nice clothes or carrying around a sack full of money."  It is NEVER acceptable to rape someone, anyone that victim blames or claims otherwise is either a moron or a rape apologist themselves, probably because they've had the desire to rape someone in the past because of similar dumbass reasons.
