Found maybe a bug in the bot.

I was quoted in a thread but the notification shows that the quote is in another thread.

Interesting that for 28889 posts he only earned 1 merit. I was going through his posts and he is definitely no shit-poster. His posts are generally reasonably good but just really short so don't attract merit.

I was thinking that, maybe xtraelv quoted me on a wrong thread and then deleted his comment but it this case I should have received a notification for both quotes. but...

yes looks like a bug, thank you for reporting. I think i have already an idea where it could go wrong and cause something like this to happen, i'll run some test and prepare a fix for it in the next days.

Some update:
- added a new option notifyby to decide which kind of notification feedback to keep in use: telegram, forum or both.
- fixed issue reported by iasenko (wrong link to the notified message).
- fixed other non catastrophic issues.

hi,

i was looking at the log, at that time yesterday the bot was not active.
I was letting it run some untested code, which had some problem and stopped the bot entirely  , that was around ~01:30:00 PM. Then i could not start it again remotely.

If you see anything else strange please let me know.

I'm going to leave it running the whole today and tomorrow (unless some big problem or crash occurs), then check back on Monday if anything need fixes.

I really like the quotes from local boards! "Normally", I would stumble upon most quotes eventually anyway, but in local boards, I'd never find them. I had no idea people refer to my posts from local threads, and some even translate my posts! Thanks for this feature

I put that issue in the list. Tomorrow i'll check if other problems came up during these days, but i'm quite happy it didn't crash for some unknown reason (yet) at least.

I now stopped the bot and is going to be down for a few days as i fix some of the issues. It seems nothing major came up and it's quite stable, at least for what i have seen in this test of 2 and half days straight.

TBH, if you need a VPS for this, I'd put it out there.
I'd probably personally chip in a little bit for a super small VPS from like DigitalOcean or Vultr.

I wouldn't be surprised if others joined in as well. It's super helpful, and worth the operating costs.

It could be a valid alternative to keep into account indeed, i actually didn't know there were cheaper options (i had tried with some free credit with Microsoft azure but it's way too expensive, Google and Amazon have something as well but i never looked how much is costing).
In the end since the work done in here is computationally very simple, it doesn't require any powerful machine to run it, so having same ultra basic configuration for the hardware would be enough

We still need another round of testing since is now running on a virtual machine in Linux, so i will keep it up as long as possible today and possibly during the whole week end as well.

If everything goes fine we are very close to a stable release which could run 24/7.

Ii see they have a free trial, i'm probably going to check it out since you have been using it for a while already, the prices are looking reasonable.
I don't have much experience with vps and I don't want to spend too much time to look around for the absolute cheap to find out later is not usable
