Again your bot spamming on the forum. For which purposes you send notifications about replies in thread B to thread A?

Read the OP.

This is a tool. Everyone can use it. The maker of the tool is hardly to blame for misuse. The user is. Please move on, or contact the specific user. Since he is using the bot you can get his attention by just mentionning his nick.

This tool uses a forum account and violates the rules. Read the rules.

If you feel that this is against the rules, you don't need to post anything here, just use the report to the moderator button. Mods will dedice if it's against the rules or not. That's all. You'll see in your report history if they mark your report good or bad, so you won't even need to come back to this topic to check the outcome.

I actually had contacted that user explaining the situation but didn't help... Smiley

Tomorrow i will make a change which will stop the bot from posting in threads which are not in Archival, so there won't be these sorts of issues anymore.

<...>
I had my notification thread moved from off-topic to archival last night by a mod. That is a more suitable place, and it was a pending task of mine to move for quite some time. This morning I PMd @Maggiordomo with an "options" subject and the parameters in the text body. I figure I did it correctly, but kindly give it a look whenever you can to check that the thread change is now in effect. Thanks.

Edit: @Maggiordomo just PMd me with a recent notification, so that's proof that I configurated it correctly.

Yes indeed your notification thread is set correctly.

I just made the change now, i'm checking that everything still works correctly and the filtering (of notifications in thread which are not in the Archival board) happen.

@Kriptopsina should not receive any notification (Thread not in Archival)
@Micio should not receive any notification (Thread not in Archival)
coinlocket$ should not receive any notification (Thread not in Archival)

Edit: seems to be behaving correctly  Smiley

If your thread is not under Archival, your are not going to receive notification anymore, please make the necessary changes

I don't know if LoyceV made the post first and then edited it, I guess it was so because I got notification for this post > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4720640.msg49089313#msg49089313

Anyway it's better to report this to be 100% sure Smiley

You were mentioned in the unedited post. I tried to add it in code-tags, but the forum can't handle it Tongue

@iasenko i see, this is actually expected to not be recognized, because you see iasenko but what the bot sees is this string (which doesn't meet the searching pattern):

Code:
[b][url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1291828]iasenko[/url][/b]

This tool uses a forum account
A forum account uses this tool.

You're wrong. There is a difference between a bot using an account and an account using a bot. An account is something like an I/O interface for a bot. In your version it turns out the car drives the driver.

I'm not newbie, please read the thread carefully. First, I sent a report, then wrote here, then the moderator deleted the bot post and posted here a link to the archive. After that, the developer said "is not a bug but a feature", and the bot after a while posted spam on Russian locale again, as a result I sent the report again and wrote here. Position of the moderator is absolutely clear - that logic of the tool violates the forum rules. I just warn the developer that the logic of the tool can lead to a ban of the bot.

The rules are enforced on a case by case basis.
Maybe drop the semantics and use your brain.

Do you think moderators don't use their brains and incorrectly interpret the rules?

Developer has managed to upgrade the bot, so it will stay in Archive, job done, so now we can turn the page. I wish that every upgrade could be done this fast in any code...

@piggy I've made a new thread but it is not working, the thread is here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5094348.0

It's still using the old thread, it should be enough to send a pm to the bot with options in the subject and the new link in the body of the message

Code:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5094348.0

The new registration with the new thread you attempted didn't work because it required to unsubscribe before, otherwise was correct. You can do that as well if you prefer.

A topic title with [] breaks your posting:
~snip~
Proposed fix: replace the [] by {} or something else.
I was wrong, the square brackets are not the problem, this is:
Code:
[list]
Proposed solution: add a space:
Code:
[ list]
I added a space in my topic title, but there are more titles like this.

Whoo hoo the bot manage to post two mentions in one post Cheesy
That's not even the first time Shocked

If i remember correctly ( i don't have the code available to check right now), there is some code which replace some of the forum tags as they were causing problems and breaking the format while posting the notification.

In my case i'm using telegram so i won't see the problem, the title displays correctly. I will have a look at it next week and see if there is some easy fix Smiley

Edit. I see now it broke the formatting

there is some problem with the bot, running it from the vps is returning https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_403 getting the latest posts, while from my machine works.

No sure what is the problem unless the ip was banned or blacklisted for some reason  Huh

EDIT: Can also be that i had the disk full i had several GB of files i use to debug errors, which i'm now cleaning up  Undecided

EDIT2: keep getting the same HTTP_403, need to look into it
