Blockchain skills are giving high paying jobs without any doubt. It's not needed to be related to the crypto industry, by the way, the technology will be a lot more used outside the crypto industry. There is a high demand currently and it will surely go up in the next decade.
Not everyone has the opportunity and the skill to acquire the required knowledge. Not long ago I opened a topic about courses and certifications, the majority said it's useless and so on, so here we go.

Not surprised at all. Average programming salary in the US is around $70,000. Now, with these programming positions related to blockhain development, your base salary is already higher. And, not to forget that these jobs could easily be among the top jobs for the future. So you are in a great position from the start. Even if you have no technical knowledge, these alternative job positions look very interesting. It is fascinating to read that some bankers who know what's going on in they crypto space are leaving for crypto.

Wow, not bad.  It doesn't surprise me that California is leading the way, since they're home to Silicon Valley and all that entails.  Plus it's really expensive to live in CA, and tech salaries there tend to be quite high.  That "meme specialist" job is kind of funny but that doesn't shock me as well.  However, something tells me that career won't exist in a few years--if it's even really a real career at present.  Sounds more like a niche market that could get saturated very quickly.

I actually would have thought that the other jobs would have paid more, as in >$100k/year, but even being close to that is really good money.  Sometimes I wonder if I went into the wrong field, but I'm kind of happy I didn't major in computer science in college.  Would have been a decent minor or extra degree, though.

It is a good thing that the number of cryptocurrency based work is increasing but the jobs posted that have high earnings are work that requires your full time as it has a lot of responsibilities. I just hope that there is that kind of work with that kind of pay that only required half the time in order for me to cater both my work as an employee and my work doing services online. But nonetheless there is no shortage of freelance work out there that does not require your full time and it is only a matter of time before their rates catch up as more demand increases in the future.

The only statistic missing I regret to not see is the ratio of the males/females and their respective salary, hoping for a bit of equality.
By the way, aren't you surprised how the percentage is high in The US and The UK together? It's about 85%. I am personally surprised because I don't think the native language is the criteria making the percentage so high

I wasn't aware of the salary for a blockchain dev. and full stack dev. but I do know for a community manager in my country, for example, is paid about $35,000 yearly (having ~10 years of experience). I am talking about real community manager of course.

It seams like the only thing that we need right now is creative minds to earn in the crypto industry because who would have thought that a persons hobby for memes can be his or her daily job as a meme specialist. Well I would also think that creativity is ehat we need even in the real world to make a living.

Cryptocurrency industry is booming that's why it is a good opportunity especially for those who are studying computer related courses because it has so many job opportunities. Since it is just getting larger, it would be good that they already have an idea about it in their respective schools and universities but unfortunately, only a few are offering such courses nowadays so I hope other countries would eventually offer these courses.

we'll know when crypto has truly arrived when the idea of advertising for a blockchain specialist is as weird as recruiting an email specialist.

going on the caliber of most people out there I would not trust them to program my coffee machine let alone my company's smart contract. and when the tools available are as complicated and potentially dangerous as ETH I wouldn't bother getting started in the first place.

we need something the average five year old can program in a totally bulletproof manner.

This is really only the beginning. The people in the space now with the relevant skills can go on to be leaders in an ever growing and flourishing field. Much like the early adopters of the internet. There will only be more and more jobs created in time.

It's interesting, but there are a few red flags in there for sure.

Companies offering payment in tokens - this sounds for too similar to ICOs that pay bounty hunters in their scam token that will never be worth anything.

Meme Specialist - this is a red flag for me for whatever company is offering the position. I'm sorry, but real investors aren't looking for projects based on their memes. This appeals to kids chasing the next pump-and-dump only. I'd stay well away from any project hiring such a position, but it's also a bit sad that this is what the crypto community responds to. Not that we could expect anything else given the sheer number of morons willing to throw their money away on scam ICOs.

Impressive stastitics, it seems like most of those numbers are from 2017, a year that saw the cryptosphere hitting its peak in popularity, though I would've love to see how those numbers look in 2018...is the crypto job market still growing? or has demand gone down due to how slow this yearh has been for crypto in terms of prices?  At least in Asia, cryptocurrency jobs are growing despite the slow movement in prices [1].

It's interesting, but there are a few red flags in there for sure.

Companies offering payment in tokens - this sounds for too similar to ICOs that pay bounty hunters in their scam token that will never be worth anything.
I think you're onto something, I wouldn't be surprised if they were actually referring to bounty campaigns...at least the % is pretty low (10%). But yeah, any legit company would most likely pay in regular currency.

The statistics don't lie though because when new breakthroughs are made, then new jobs are created along the line. When the internet broke, it gave room to several jobs that are still relevant till today e.g website designers, host maintenance engineers, IT specialists, software developers, laptop engineers etc. The most recent is the social media. Jobs that were not in existence a decade ago have become a gold mine for those who are able to tap into the moving chain. Today we have jobs such as, social media head, content creator, social influencers, social media relationship management and series of training to expand on that.

For blockchain, its expected that it will continue like that into the next decade but the concern here is that those working behind the scenes in making things happen are seeing as a career and not something they will do and move on. The reason for that is for a community manager who does not see his job as a career to focus on, tend to handle it shabbily to the detriment of the entire industry. For the IT inclined guys, they are really making some moves in that regard and the future of blockchain still depends on the content they can come out with at the end of the day.

Well, if that job really existed and was not just a publicity stunt it's all gone ...
The ICO that was advertising has gone silent and it didn't get too many investors.
So, it wasn't a case of a 48 000/year job  Undecided

This is quite interesting piece to go through and I believe this is just the start of what is to come in the long run.
It is a good way for some people to understand this is the way to go for the future when it comes to building on skills related to the blockchain world as this would be the most seriously needed areas as time goes on.

The good thing is that it cuts across board, so not necessarily for programmers alone, even though they will tend to have a great pay as a result of that, but in reality, it is for everyone who one way or the other is able to find a way to build something for themselves, or use their skills to do something relevant to earn.

I suppose the majority of this jobs aren't related to cryptocurrency but rather to health, supply chain, fintech, AI etc..

@o_e_l_e_o

I don't think you will ever find any blockchain dev. accepting to be paid with tokens. People need to pay bills, foods, etc they can't wait to see IF the token will be listed somewhere to then be able to trade it.
For the Meme specialist job, I think for $48,000  I am ready to go on youtube posting idiot village videos and pranks =)

@tomahawk9
Difficult to get statistics for 2018 since the year is not ended yet Wink But on another side, getting stats from 2015-2014-etc could be interesting to compare how it evolved since.

Yeah, in Korea they're going wild about it.  I've applied for a few positions recently, some analyst and programming stuff.

Yes i can imagine the job listings are increasing. Isnt Blockchain/crypto technology
contributing to the current industrial revolution? We have on a seperate note seen
last year Japan and Australia looking to attract these tech jobs. This year we also
saw Spain and many other countries looking to attract the industry. Jobs are definitely
on the rise in this sector.

Wow i never thought of this one because i am not thinking about the work for cryptocurrency and since the pictures does shows that cyrptocurrency is one system that has a highest paid job compared to other probably its because of its technicalities with the know how to use the computer and internet definitely it could make one that rich here in the system.

The company location doesn't matter much as the majority of the jobs are/ will be remote. Just in a year, it increased by x5 (see infographic).
Mainly because it is surely difficult to hire the right person in this field as it's a quite new one
