High ranks that don't use avatars

Question to full member and up that don't use avatars. Why not use an avatar to make yourself more recognizable?

I have a tendency to not even pay attention to what user makes a post unless they have a recognizable avatar.  Sometimes my mind will just lump people together that have the same bounty avatar.

Example:

Vod= Peter Griffin
Jet Cash = Cat in Hat
The Pharmacist = Black Star

It saves my data if I don't have to keep loading an image every time I got to this forum (at the top in my profile).

Also can't work out what to put there is another thing...

Where's your avatar too? (EDIT: accidentally forgot to turn back on avatars)...

One more, I don't like putting avatar unless it is required. My rank makes me recognizable and I don't care about avatar.

I've got a picture of a coin made out of jet. I used that for a while, but people seem to prefer the "cat in a hat". Every time I try to change it, I get a load of flak.

I doubt that the image will have too much of an impact on your data plan. Also, browsers utilize caching unless you are browsing via TOR or something.

Not in my case. I hardly recognize an avatar unless I pay attention to it. It's the posts that I am reading anyway.

It's true that's easier to recognize members when they have unique avatar (and not commercial advertisement in place of avatar).
Why I'm not using avatar? Because it's not neccessary for me and it wouldn't check anything. And it's too difficult to pick one avatar for my profile. So, I keep things simple. I also don't have avatars on other, not Bitcoin related forums.

Actually it's up to the user whether they want to wear an avatar or not. We can't force them to use one and some members doesn't want to be recognised. But of course, luckily other members are already recognised by their avatar.

Are you talking about your face in real life? If yes, well its not really necessary to put your face as your avatar just to be recognised. Don't worry, I'm ugly as well

Why not use high-end gaming mouse from logitech as your avatar? They made a great looking mouse in my opinion, and hey, they have RGB too !
