Hi everyone,

There is an idea to create promotional thread on bitcointalk. We're not new ICO or new token.

Promotional campaign brief could sound like these:

  • Create an account and first 100 accounts will get 0.0002BTC for free to our service account
  • Perform an action and first 100 will get 0.0002BTC for free to our service account
  • Pass quiz about service and get 0.0002BTC for free to our service account

What do you think? Is this kind of promo allowed here? What forum should I choose?

Yes, it's allowed. Post it in Games and Rounds.

Well, I think it could depend on what the 'action' is:

  • Perform an action and first 100 will get 0.0002BTC for free to our service account

If the action is to make a post on your thread, then no, that wouldn't be allowed, but there are plenty of 'legit' ways you can offer such payment for performing certain actions. Check the Bounties section for examples and to see what usually goes on there.

Yeah, it's not allowed unless the thread you want people to post in is in Games and Rounds (and the reward is paid in Bitcoin).

That's new. So projects are allowed to do paid bumping of their topics in Games and Rounds as long as the payments are in BTC. Are there any equivalent boards in altcoin section too? Just to know where all paid bumping is allowed.

I don't think the paid bumping is no where allowed in this forum, only the contest be like we need to post something in other platforms like social media or other forums or whatever but if someone is paying their participants to bump a thread then it will cause permaban.

That’s already been answered.

See this thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=254871.msg45661679#msg45661679

I (and others) bump it every day.

OP, you should lock the thread now.
