I'm not entirely sure if this is the right board to post this or if this is correct.

I saw this new bounty platform posted here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5025897.msg45498417#msg45498417

The thing is, this bounty platform CoinClaim is using this logo:

The logo looked familiar with the logo of someone who I've dealt with before and I went to check and it have slight similarity to it but it isn't the same. Anyway, after that I went to reverse search the image and then I found the exact logo with a different color.

It's the logo of Capsule Corp. https://capsulecorpgear.com/

I have a feeling they both used one of those websites that offers "fee logos".
  • I was able to find that logo in few other websites and a profile page:

Well if they just used the same website who offers logo then we can't call it plagiarism isn't?

Correct but I haven't found a website that offers the exact logo in question, for free (I'm just saying there's a possibility).
- Perhaps "jacee" can ask "CoinClaim" to provide some proof (failure in showing those, means it's a case of "plagiarism" but at the same time, it's a very simple logo).

In my opinion, plagiarizing Logo is more difficult to define than simple plagiarism.

1.I do not think the LOGO you designed that it has any particularity. This is a pattern composed of 2 Cs. Search CC logo LOGO on the Internet. Find a lot of graphics similar to your LOGO. Even I have seen some ICOs, their logos are very similar to yours.
2.has your logo registered trademarks or intellectual property rights? If you haven't registered it anywhere, I think your LOGO is not legally protected, it's too common, I even think someone has registered a similar.
3.This logo may not be copied from you, but on some websites that offer LOGO materials for free or for fee, so before the investigation is clear, I can only think that the two LOGOs are "similar" but cannot be considered as "plagiarism",They have a difference in color after all.

There is a nice guideline here:  How to Copyright a Logo: 14 Steps (with Pictures)

A company/business with professional team will always make sure that their digital assets are correctly copyrighted.

The thing is, this bounty platform CoinClaim is using this logo: https://i.imgur.com/0sNohVq.jpg
If the original (whichever one) is not protected by copyright law then anyone can use it. Even the one who copied it can later apply for a copyright which is not even their creation.

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M

I asked them and here's what they said:

can I ask who made your logo?
Our internal design team made the logo.

Are you aware sir that there's a company that is also using the same logo as the one you are using?

Code:
[img]https://i.imgur.com/5smMBRA.jpg[/img]
Thank you for this information. I will let the team know.

It does look like a logo generated from a logo generator. I'm also trying to find any stock photo but I can't find any.

snip

1.I do not think the LOGO you designed that it has any particularity.

snip

I was not the one who designed the logo mate. I just found it and happens to be familiar so I thought of looking if it's plagiarized but seems not.

I think a lot of the ICOs are using either the same designers or generation services for their logos. Perhaps these ICOs are run by the same people, and therefore they are using the same designers? I wouldn't put it past them. I don't think this is a plagiarism issue per day. However, it probably shows laziness for the team involved.

The subject accused of plagiarism/using the same logo from designers is not an ICO, it is a bounty platform like Bountyhive or Bounty0x.

I personally would want to be more careful before concluding that its a case of plagiarism for the following reason:

1. The two names can pass for that logo. Even without knowing any of the above before and aside someone who is not serious with business and your intention is outright scam, you don't go ahead and copy a logo which you know people could pass your project for something else. Again, the design is simple enough to be designed from the way I see it that only one person will come up with something so unique and lay claim to it.

2. Then there is a need to get to the route of who designed it. If they had hire a designer, then the fault is on the designer not the project promoters themselves because as a developer, its excusable to outsource some functions and the moment its delivered, you check if it aligns with the name of the project you use it.

I would suggest that before a final decision is made, the people involved should be reached to give account on how they came about the two so similar design that someone has worked on.
