Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

People like you don't understand nothing, why do you feel a need to be in someones hands? You don't trust in yourself, you feel a need to be a slave and others to guarantee you existence? Most of the comments here in topic show how big idiots some members here are, most of this idiots or all of them didn't even read what op shared, but they have a lot to say about it. Link to quora is full with chart analysis, many of us know how useless are this charts in crypto world. You can read how to do some analysis, but it's all guessing, you can use math for what ever you wish, but bitcoin can do something completely different. I will quote something from this link, to show how funny this guy is: "I am 95% confident that the price of Bitcoin will fall between $3,005, and $81,998 in one year." Haha, this is funny, for next year I predict price between 1k and 100k dollars, and if I guess right I will be an expert? Haha |

I will waiting for bitcoin halving and then i see about the price. Because when we saw the history it can reach ath again this is my opinion. But now i will buy some bitcoin again to collect when the market still drop so i can sell when it maybe bounce back.
Halving is something that will change price as always, maybe this time can be something else. This block reward reduction can adjust price to higher number or not. However next year can be anything in type of not just bitcoin but all crypto, generally we could only speculate in price and all other thing but in real we can only hope for better. In hope of any change for price my guess could be double the current price is maybe for end or first quarter of next year. The thing is ,we could only predict and hope for the better ! That is the basic idea as long as there is no human in this world that can simply get to understand what the future holds and as much as we can anticipate for a great future, it does not mean there still would not be some resistance and obstacles along the way which could lead to either more strength or weakness. Bitcoin market is for sure one that we all really wish it would grow bigger than it is currently, but as it is, we still have to remain realistic that it is all in the hands of time. |

2019 is really good for cryptocurrency since we are at the $6k price so we can expect higher prices in the future and we can earn more profit in this way so keep on holding your coins as of now and have more patience. |

Everyone should be optimistic though the market has been on the bear market until now. You have to encourage and be optimistic, if you will be like those people who are very skeptic and their pessmistic ideas are coming in you won't grow and you're no longer interested on the future of bitcoin. But we have the same goals here and that is to see the great price of bitcoin. $30,000 - $50,000 is ideal for 2019. But I think being blindly optimistic is also setting yourself up for disappointment. What if bitcoin never gets to those highs again. Sure, we all want bitcoin to be worth $20-50k, but that's just wishful thinking. Realistically is that going to happen? Probably not. Call me skeptical or pessimistic if you want but I'd rather be realistic about things than just baselessly speculating on these magic multiple tens of thousands of dollar numbers. I won't call you skeptic because what you are saying has points and I do respect it. Those pessimistic and skeptic people that I've been calling were the ones that doesn't really see any movement and keeps on saying that bitcoin is nowhere to go. We can't see a window to those prices for now but if that will happen someday again that's great but if it won't, still its okay. |

we can only speculate that the price of bitcoin will be better in 2019, and that we can see at the end of the year. well, hopefully 2019 will bring big changes like bitcoin in 2017. it can be said that this year really tested crypto users. |

I don't even think that's high unlike the "experts" prediction for this year. They predicted that price would come for this year but still there's no assurance that it can be reach. It's possible that we will still be in a very long bear for that year and 2020 is going to be the year of recovery. There's more to come and I've been looking forward to the effect of the next halving which will surely give positive result. |

I don't know about bitcoin but each year blockchain finds itself a place in the world where people keep asking about how they can implement blockchain to their already running systems.
Blockchain is bound to change the software world and any developer who is working on how to be a better blockchain coder is getting paid by the bunches. Considering coders are already one of the most paid people and blockchain developer is something much rare they are of course paid more than other jobs. Which means there are people out there who want to hire these people so they can change their software to include blockchain into it.
2019 will be the year of blockchain developers for sure.

The future of bitcoin for the next year and the years after that is still looking very bright when you see it from the point of view of the technology, but if you are talking about the price I really think that is very likely that in the next year of 2019 the price of bitcoin is not going to recover, I really think that the bear market is still going to last until that year and we are not going to begin to see a recovery until the beginning of the year of 2020, I see this as good news because it gives me a lot of time to get more coins.

Bitcoin future as of now is so hard to predict because of its performance nowadays. But I'm pretty sure there will be a high increase again next year, ( in fact it's always happened every year. but in 2019 not too much in my opinion.) And real talk it will not stay for long time again because of some causes, which is for sure it will collapse again after the growth rate bullish .
I hope that wouldn't be the case. I just wish that cryptocurrencies in general could get accepted by masses As time goes on, I want to believe adoption would increase as the technology keeps advancing and we see bitcoin becoming a house hold name in terms of usage as a currency. Yes, for that to happen we need more people/country to adopt bitcoins compared to what we are having and what few countries are doing. Time is the only answer for all of these. For what it is worth, we all so much believe that the future is meant to be great even if we cannot see it, so looking at 2019 is just best left with 2019 as we will see what becomes of the space as well as bitcoin when that time comes. For now, we are just stuck with the present moment, and hopefully, get to utilize the moment effectively. Yeah, just like the early day of Microsoft when it was only 0.20$ a share. And the stock was low than that. But it proved to be a good decision for those who made it! I feel like after 20 years we will be talking about bitcoin the same way ,we are talking about Microsoft! |

Time to invest in Bitcoin then.
Yes exciting times! I am planning to ,myself! We are all sure planning to see some exciting period in the long run and there is certainly no doubt about that. 2019 may come as a surprise and it may not depending on which turn it takes, but that does not change the fact that even if the bearish state continues in 2019, there is still a bright future ahead of us. This is the reason why anyone who is smart now will be ready to use this period to try as much as possible to stash up. No one can predict what happen in bitcoin in the next year but if we look at this year , we are seeing that this year was a major bear market like it was back in 2015-16. And there is still a chance that we will end this year at low price. So I am hoping that in 2019 we finally will get to see rise in Bitcoin price.
Well, there is a huge chance! Even if we end up higher than this, I am still pretty sure we will never be able to test the previous ATH by the end of the year, unless a miracle just seem to happen. What is important though now is that this is a time for people to refuel as this would always be a good time to take in as much as you can, pending when the market will eventually recover. No one knows the future like you said, but we can still take advantage of the present opportunity bestowed on the market. |

Of course the future of bitcoin is very bright but nobody can say how long we will have to wait for those good days because the current situation is very bad and the price of bitcoin is almost constant and stuck between $6000 and $6500. Today the price is about $6200 while yesterday it was about $6400. It means that there is no regular increase in the price for the last 8 months. |

The future is certainly bright and anyone who understands the pure nature of bitcoin and blockchain technology at large, will understand perfectly well that they simply have less to worry about when it comes to the future as I believe there would keep being progress over time, things would change, we will get to see massive adoption and real life as a currency, and we will have some good number of the global population that would prefer to make use of it. Now for blockchain technology, I am sure we already know how fast that is making some great impact already and how it will keep evolving. Bitcoin and blockchain technology will work and help for each other which will lead them growing bigger in coming years. Both will stay with us for ever hence adopting them for day today life will be essential to stay competitive in this world. |

It is a fact that bitcoin is spreading worldwide and more countries are coming to accept bitcoin and the blockchain technology. Yet, you have to take into consideration that there are many other countries that are opposing bitcoin. The media is still against bitcoin. Others have banned crypto related Ads. Hence, there are still many obstacles that bitcoin is facing, and I do not think 2019 will have that huge gap. It is still going to be the same for both bitcoin and the blockchain technology. |
