I was wondering, are there people here who have been through the previous bear market? Would be nice to hear some stories about the general consensus back then.

Is it the same? Is it worse? Lots of panic? Smiley

I haven't experienced it yet. But I know I've been through the bull market of last year. Now I am experiencing the bear market this year. Maybe this is the market. Maybe this is a samsara.

For me, I have been in the space since July last year so, I went through the big China FUD and the December bull run. Other than that, I have no prior experience. We can read archives but that's not the same I guess. Cheesy

It is not me, I am not for so long here, since 2016 or something near about this. But I have learnt so much that I have a feeling that I am here for 10 years.

Its not comparable thou way back 2014 is much smaller Market Cap much less coin or token listed and the BTC price is just 200 dollars no Ethereum and much smaller of people who use cryptocurrency.

I was there during the dotcom crash which was a lot worse, it took many years for the NASDAQ to recover from that horrific loss, I believe crypto will rebound much faster though.

I remember correctly when bitcoin is still around $600 - $1000 (on mercatox), back then there's a rumor going round that bitcoin got hacked, many people selling their BTC and got dropped to $300. that's when stellar lumens is launched and giving coin for free.

In 2014, people could not think that bitcoin would grow to 20,000 dollars. Then they thought only about how to make money on it. Nobody spoke about trends and like that.

I want to believe there are such people in existent as there are so relaxed and calm investors even in this bearish state
But why do you need them ?
Maybe to get advises and insights ?

I guess I need that too

Same for me, came into the space at about the same time, around June ending. Experienced a lot within a short while and it was a new world to me altogether. I belong to some crypto groups on telegram and whatsapp and all the early adopters on those platforms tell is how much they regret the fact they didn't buy as much Bitcoin as they could at the time as they didn't know it would be something of much worth. As regards the similarities of the current market situation and that year, none of such info has come to the fore.

Must have, but may not be able to see your message. If early participants insisted on investing in coins, I think they might not spend time on the forum, then they should be very rich. They are more willing to enjoy life.

Unfortunately, I was not in such a market, but my friend told me a lot about him. And he said that he was constantly panicking. Now he does not pay any attention to the bear market in general, because he is sure that the bull market will come.

No, I haven't experienced it however. But I know I've been through the bull advertise of final year. Presently I am encountering the bear showcase this year. Perhaps typically the showcase.

Yes, and just as many think now, that the markets will never recover and that this is the end of crypto.

Experiencing Bitcoin going from 1100-1200 USD to 200-250 USD was very disheartening, lost all hope in crypto's potential for a few months. Coming out of that bear period, while still being motivated by crypto, the hardcore enthusiast's became millionaires.

I'm still in crypto because of my love and passion for blockchain tech, and enjoy assisting/growing new coins with new entrepreneurs entering this field. But, greed and lack of knowledge reigns dominate in this climate, and it will only continue to get worse.

Feel free to read more about my experiences and insight on this thread (or you can ask a question yourself, and i'll respond to it): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4930584.msg45500452#msg45500452

That is a very good question, most of the Legendary members were probably around, but if they had any luck they are all probably millionaires drinking Daiquiri in some sunny beach. I think that the panic is something that is increasing nowadays because many people are investing the money that they cannot afford to loose.
