I'm questioning the definition of "read". Do you mean if someone clicks the link to the message? Just clicking " my messages" doesn't mean (to me) that someone's read my message.
My thoughs exactly! And that brings me to my next point: when I click "MY MESSAGES", it brings me to the last page, even when I have new messages on the previous page. A very easy solution would be if "MY MESSAGES" brings me to the oldest unseen PM.
When receiving many messages, I can imagine it's easy to overlook some of them if you have to manually search for the oldest unread PM.

Someone's popular Grin.
And yeah, that seems like it's a flaw with the SMF software the forum's built on.

The reader clicking the title of each single message would make the title of that message turn normal from bold for both reader and sender in their mailboxes.

How would you suggest we mark the current PMs then? All read or will I have to go through a hundred pages and mark them individually.
This is a detail. But guessing I want all read, ok?

There is already a long list of features waiting to be implemented and some of them are quite fundamental for a modern forum. It would be nice peraphs to have this feature implemented, but doesn't add that much value imo, is mainly something for your mental peace. Smiley
(My) mental peace is important!
Well, I looked for that very list, but I failed miserably: do you have a link?
Thanks,
F1

Here is a list that was put togheter based an all the suggestions that are popping up from time to time.
