Ledger Nano not on attached to Tab

I bought Ledger Nano S and OTG kit. I connected the Ledger to my Lenovo using a cable from the kit. I turned on the tab and pressed the first button of the Ledger. But the Ledger could not be turned on. The screen was dark and blank. The tab can support OTG. I checked already using a Google app.

Do i have to do anymore setting on the tab for ther Ledger to be working? How to solve the problem? Is the Ledger or the cable broken?

The nano s should at least turn the screen on once you connect it to your tablet.
You did use the cable from ledger, right ? Because you need a cable with power pins. Most transfer cables do only have data pins, and are missing the power pins.

If you have used ledgers cable AND OTG was activated on your tablet (you have to turn it on in the settings), it seems like something is broken (either cable or nano s).
Can you try out to connect your nano s to a computer ? If it doesn't turn on once you connect it via the original cable (or another one which DOES have power pins) to an USB port, you unfortunately got a broken nano s.

I'd suggest contacting ledgers' support then. They are pretty helpful and should deliver you a new one.

Yes, you need to enable it in case of it being disabled.
You'll have to look into the settings. Are you running an android or windows tablet ? Which tablet are you using ?

The best probably would be to check it using a standard USB port on a computer. Don't you have any computer accessible ?

I think you might be a bit confused there... Generally all the USB cables have power pins... but some power cables don't come with the data pins. As the OP bought an OTG kit, it SHOULD be the right cable.

If the ledger is not turning on, then there are 3 possible reasons:
1. Wrong or damaged cable.
2. The Lenovo Tab is not (enough) supplying power.
3. Broken Ledger

Do as bob123 suggested, and test the Ledger with another tablet or, better yet, a desktop computer and a normal micro usb cable... that will rule out a broken ledger.

You can then test the Lenovo OTG functionality by connecting a USB mouse to your Lenovo Tab using one of the OTG adapters. If the mouse powers up and allows you to move a cursor around on the tablet screen, then it definitely supports OTG. If the mouse doesn't work, you may find that while the Android software version you have has support for OTG, the actual hardware (ie. the usb port in the tablet) might have had the OTG disabled/not wired up. I've had a couple of phones like this.

If the Ledger and the Tablet both work with other devices, then it's most probable that the cable/adapter you're trying to use is faulty.

As said the Ledger should be atleast turned on when you do make such insertion from OTG to the Tablet. OTG are auto detectable if not got Settings — storage — mount usb.
If these fails then the problem would be either on the OTG itself or software bug on the current OS version of such tablet.
