I think the crypto market is just in an initial stage of expansion and occupies a very small and insignificant place in the global economy. For that reason I do not understand the great pessimism that many times is observed in those who have invested some money here, as soon as they observe some eventual fall in the price of bitcoin.

At some point I read an article in which bitcoin was already among the 20 most important currencies in the world (displacing many fiat currencies), so I have no doubt that the growth potential of this market is still immense and we can still consider ourselves as early adopters.

Its true that bitcoin is at early stage and still 9 years old. Need more time for growing. No investment can grow like bitcoin that give you profits more than 1000% in just one year in 2017. I am believe long term investment for bitcoin is good choice and when people start have knowledge about bitcoin, the price will increasing

Yes indeed. Currently, all the advantages of working with crypto-currencies are studied and people learn to use them with benefit for themselves and others. I am confident that over time, crypto currency will increasingly become part of our lives.

Give the bitcoin sufficient time and you will see it coming on the track soon and giving everyone what they deserve according to their investment made into it. Bitcoin is still young technology which is not fully understood by the world. All they know about it is just a crypto coin which has got "good value" or "bad value" and its volatile one. Thats all, that is what most of the common people think about it. Bitcoin's potential will be explored to the moon level as soon as more and more technician fall into this field and explore different aspects of the same. Its all about the time!

It's an important point that everyone tends to forget because it's something that works so well:

Bitcoin is still effectively in beta.

People spend so long fixating on the price swings that they totally forget about how much stuff is still on the to-do list.  A 0.x version generally denotes software that isn't deemed a full release candidate yet and the latest Bitcoin Core is 0.16.2 so clearly still beta software.  Lightning is also very much in early beta.  There's so much more to come.  People need to be patient.

to be fair bitcoin core is not bitcoin, it is one of the implementations of bitcoin protocol and it happens to be the reference implementation and also still be in beta after 9 years

True enough, I was just too lazy to look up the latest version numbers for other clients and Core just happens to be at the top-left of the page.   Cheesy

Armoury is 0.96.0, so based on their version number, they might still see it as beta software
Electrum, conversely, is up to 3.2.3, so based on that, they probably view it as more of a full release

It will definitely vary from one group of devs to another.  They'll naturally all have different ideas about how "complete" their implementation is.

but I don't think we can also consider bitcoin itself as a protocol as being in beta. bitcoin is young but is a solid protocol that has been thoroughly tested and battle hardened.

It's certainly an arguable point.  Most of the current end-users probably see it as, effectively, a finished product, but many devs might still see these as early days because they've still got loads more ideas they want to explore and, perhaps one day, implement.  However, while it might be easy for current, moderately tech-savvy, users to take for granted, Bitcoin still isn't quite user-friendly enough for the average person to deal with yet.  There are certainly custodian services that simplify things, but that's not what I think of as "proper" usage.  Because of that, I personally still tend to lean more towards it being in beta.

There's too many newbies on board yet. The hate for bitcoin must be real, we need to see all the casuals that entered in the last FOMO season out, because these guys aren't thinking rationally, they don't understand the fundamentals and they don't therefore understand the inherent value of bitcoin.

Of course bitcoin is insanely tiny compared to what it is and where it should be. I mean Jeff Bezos' fortune is bigger than bitcoin, how stupid one would need to be to not see how insanely undervalued bitcoin is? very, and these are exactly the type of people we need to see dumping. Once they are all out we'll go for a new all time high as the smart people that see these facts are waiting for that to happen to enter the market.

Great point mate since this crying babies in our community are those who enters the cryptocurrency without actual knowledge on what they are engaging for, maybe these are being encouraged by friends or love ones without briefings on what they facing, but the promise of becoming rich and i hate this ideas because we are responsible in our own money so we must be aware of where to spend if valuable or just a gamble.

I think you are overdoing it by saying Bitcoin has replaced many fiat currencies. If Bitcoin replaces fiat money then the country is not using paper currency and I have not heard the news that Bitcoin has replaced a currency in a particular country.
But I also hope that, Bitcoin can replace the Fiat currency. If Bitcoin can replace the Fiat currency other countries need not center on the dollar. I believe the global economy will be evenly distributed and developing countries like my country will prosper if they no longer focus on the dollar.

The growth potential of bitcoin is quite enormous therefore we should not be in a rush to reach the desired destination. At some point, the price will fluctuate. Often times when I hear people impatiently say that this is the end of bitcoin, I smile at the level of ignorance being demonstrated

We can't predict the future of BTC. What is the price of it? Still need market testing, now BTC is still ranked first!
If the US Securities and Exchange Commission approves the application for the Bitcoin ETF, the BTC will grow substantially!

I definitely agree with OP as I believe that people should not doubt about btc as this had proven so many times to the investors what it's capable of. BTC had proven to the investors when it had skyrocketed last year where it had almost reached the $20K mark. With the current btc dip, my opinion is that btc is undergoing correction in preparation for another expected bullish market within the Q4 this year.

The market of crypto currency is at the initial stage of the change, the sharp rise in prices is explained by attracting more people and that bitcoin was at everyone's ears.

I agree to the topic. People should stop being negative about the circumstances of bitcoin. If we keep on doing that then we never be satisfy about the situation of it. We will never be happy about the price of it in the market. Bitcoin is now growing. It is now becoming more and more successful as time pass by. So we must support it and try to think optimistic about the future it may have.

It is not unusual to always find people who always believe that bitcoin will ever remain bullish. This is not possible and people have to understand this. How you feel doesn't change anything. Bitcoin may have been with us for some years but yet it is still the early stage of it. Let's learn to be patient.

Cryptocurrencies spaces are indeed still at the beginning of the age. A lot of room for developments still needed. Fact is cryptocurrencies still has a problem with scalability issues and lack of user-friendliness (UX design). And still, depend on government regulations. I agree with OP, we can safely say we are still at the early adopter's. We are contributing to something big in the future.

True this. A lot of people are investing pennies and hoping to become rich. This isn't 2009, your $10 investment isn't going to make you a millionaire. You can't simply invest and forget about it, and come back in 5 years and be rich anymore. It's time to put the work in and grind your way to the top!

We cannot blame the human instinct of what most people are feeling, after all a lot of us always put our emotions first rather than proper thinking. Feeling a loss financially on our assets such as cryptocurrencies will give a heavy toll in our brains which will make us feel negative about it. And this is not a new event happening as even in other investment vehicles such as stocks, real estate, and even businesses give their investors something to worry about everytime it goes down. This is a normal feeling and what we the emotionally strong can do is to encourage them more in their investments.
