To All Upper Ranks

Recently there was a change in the merit system for jr. members. I am new to this group since I joined only last April 2018. I'm posting this to express my feelings ( feel free to laugh at me, criticize me or the like). Let's be honest that many posts from newbies or jr. members are shit post or bounty related reporting (which I always do since I participated in many bounties). This is  to address all upper ranks to somehow give a justice to jr. members or newbies who have posts which are eligible to earn the merits and I know that some of you are greedy of merits and let us not deny that. This is one of the reasons why most of the jr. members are getting tired to exert effort since when they have a good post, no one give them merits. I think to be fair, my suggestion is that there should also be a requirement or pre-requisite tp give a minimum merit to other deserving person before leveling up to another rank.

Example If you are:
                          minimum to give
jr. member-                  1
member                       4
full member                  7
and so on...

In that way, we could increase the distribution of the merits and it can encourage everyone to have a good posts especially the new members just like me.

Work harder! Everyone from this forum we´ve been newbie, so in order to improve even more this excellent forum, what new people should do it´s to make to grow more, and not the opposite.
Everything change when we demand ourselves and not when we want things by somehow easier...

Are you sure that your IDEA will encourage everyone to make good posts? I dont think so. People are lazy and they will abuse it in order for them to increase their rank EASILY.

I really haven't seen one single good post in your post history that's worth giving merit. All of your 183 posts are low quality and/or bounty campaign spam.

Another topic in which newbie whines about the horribly injustice of the merit system and accuse greed of higher ranks. The most interesting thing is that you admit that you basically write bounty related posts which don`t make sense and don`t make any contribution to the forum. The question arises: what do you want to receive merits for?

Before complaining about the fact that noone gives you merits, think about whether you deserve them. If you don`t make any effort to be appreciated by the community, then why do you think that someone should give you merits "as a gift"? Poor newbies, they are very tired of the fact that higher ranks require unrealistic efforts from them and establish such rigid and unfair rules. How can they limit the ability to earn easy money for lousy posts? The world is terribly unfair...

I'm glad that juniors and newbies are getting tired. In fact I'm getting tired of seeing all these threads appearing, and I've cut down the time I spend here for a while. Everybody seems to want to jump on a variety of bandwagons at the moment, and most of the bandwagons are now parked for the winter. Even if you do manage to find an active bandwagon on which you can jump, if you start banging on somebody else's drum, you are probably going to get a drumstick poked in your ear,

I believe you have wrote this under wrong assumption that senior members somehow have any use from hoarding sMerits. That is not the case, unless they are selling it which is another problem. You can only send sMerits and you rank up by the number of Merits received. Every 2 Merits you receive you will have one sMerit to send. Of course when you send sMerit the other person receives it as a Merit which keeps the cycle going. There is a loss of available sMerits (50%) in every Merit transaction and that is why theymos decided to appoint new merit sources (36 I believe) to keep the numbers flowing.

I have earned/received more than 180 Merits till now and given away almost all my sMerits, no point in hoarding. I try to keep up some small amount in reserve for truly exceptional posts or post that help me personally.

This is actually not a bad idea, but not because of the reason you mentioned before. I believe that there are still quite a lot senior users not aware of the Merit system. This way they would have personal incentive to start using it. I am sure someone in this meta section already has some merit statistical analysis that has a number/list of such users

I wonder why these threads don’t get locked as soon as they appear. I suppose it is because of freedom of speech, and letting people to complain as much as they want, but it is tiring.
