well at some point people started advertising bitcoin as "to the moon", "HODL", and stuff like that and then price went up too fast and too big like it usually does so we ended up with a large number of people who were only interested in making profit (when to buy and when to sell).
i don't think it is necessarily a bad thing. people who started like that can eventually see the real potential of bitcoin as the decentralized currency and see the other side of the coin to.

Bitcoins volatility really did attract a lot of "investment" in 2017, so much so
that the frenzy pushed the value up to $20k. A lot of those have cashed out
but there is still big interest in bitcoin from those still in and those looking in
and waiting for their next opportunity.

This is the reality indeed. And the main reason for this is that there is more interest in the prices rather than on the product and the features. I myself was also encouraged to buy and buy in the beginning without really understanding the concept and the vision behind the projects of the coins that I bought. However, as soon as they are immersed fully in crypto, they will still learn by and by the technology.

That is the point of view of the people who only seek profit, and feel thirsty for finance. Bitcoin is likened to gold being mined and sold for profit.
They will not be able to know the actual blockchain, in this case, we will learn to give a little knowledge of the amount of blockchain which has its own function.

That is why many are losing an investment on it because they dont know what blockchain is and how it really going to work, and going to work with it. Lack of idea about it and give big expectation without right working for it which dump the reality. Many are just looking for the profit and not on what really in dip it has about.

The most important lesson is, our expectation failed us, but the good thing is, we learn from our over expectation, the reality shows us and teach us to how to handle this kind of market situation, and you are right that if we want to minimize loses, we need to hold it for long and consider it as a bank "time deposit" when the right time we will reap a good profit from it.

Aside from the fact that these people flocked here without knowing how to differentiate bitcoin from blockchain and they were like zombies that bought just because they heard that they can profit a good amount. On a contrary, that helped the marketcap mounted to more billion which had drawn more attention to investors and resulting of constant rise.

I always find it funny when some here didn't know what is blockchain and mistakenly brand bitcoin as blockchain, and bitcoin as altcoin.

Well the market sentiment is mostly bullish right now, even though the market itself says otherwise. People will always maintain an optimistic view of cryptocurrency until they realize they have lost all of their life savings. People should spend more time actually understanding the truth of the situation than mindlessly believing the hype or current trends.

So in my opinion, in the introduction to Crypto, there are people who tend to be positive and there are also negative ones. People who think positively spontaneously will think about how to get as much profit as possible, regardless of the impact of crypto. (here on average are civilians who want to learn to get money from the internet).

Whereas people who think negatively are more (Do not join crypto, it is a bubble, very dangerous). This side mostly come from govt. told you not to join crypto and forbid it in your country as well

short term speculators and that was not a good move for Bitcoin, because these people pulled their capital as soon as the price

Do you think that, perhaps, the mindset of a newcomer also affects their success in crypto? As perfectly shown in the image, it seems there are more people who wanted to jump on the buying and selling right away without learning about this digital currency first. Perhaps, if a newbie has a different mindset and reasoning for wanting to get into cryptocurrency, then perhaps it will make a difference?

So most of people who jump in and support cryptocurrency just learnead about its basic and mostly considered their financial input as investment where they can reap in due time.  With that only a few devote themselves in understanding what blockchain and its application is and most just look at it as stock where they invest and sell when they think they have enough profit.

Basic knowledge about blockchain is good but it will never bring huge profit unless we specialized on it.  Besides day trading brings faster result than application of what we have learned about blockchain and people always wants the shortest possible time for their ROI.

I think this is because cryptocurrency is very technical and has a lot of technical terms that those are not techy will have a hard time understanding the crypto world. It might not also help that because there are way too many resources available, newcomers sometimes are having a hard time choosing what to believe, so instead they just pursue buying and selling bitcoins right away without fully understanding what the crypto world is all about.

people entered the crypto world because of the profits, few people are because of the technology and I do not see much problem in that. About investors, they do basic research to be able to invest, it happens that even knowing the fundamentals of cryptos does not guarantee that the person will be successful. Just see that even bitcoin fell from $ 18000 to $ 6000.

so it would be impossible to be used as a means of payments because no one would want to spend hours reading all the fundamentals of bitcoin to later buy bitcoin and go buy pizza.

Yes when people heard about crypto especially bitcoin, they just know about profit and expect to make big profit soon without knowing how the market work. When people enter into crypto without Understanding and knowledge they will buy bitcoin without analize before, they buy with high price and then the price go down. It is true that people who know how to use their knowledge and skills to devote themselves fully to the field of cryptocurrencies will find interesting opportunities to succeed in a promising future where cryptocurrencies could play an important role in the global economy, but we should not assume that only those who get a deep knowledge of blockchain technology may be the winners in this growing ecosystem.

Yes when people heard about crypto especially bitcoin, they just know about profit and expect to make big profit soon without knowing how the market work.    Expectation is very far from reality. If you have enough knowledge you will understand what is bitcoin,why it was created and what is the purpose of this. Many people has a higher expectation and sometimes it makes them dissapointed. Just know the reality of bitcoin,do learning about it to have knowledge which is very helpful to continue work and patronizing cryptocurrency like bitcoin.

Well people tend to find easy way to make money and most of the people are attempted to invest because of the profit without learning about the risk or having basic knowledge about crypto, nowadays the investors not seeing the potential anymore, they just looking for the profit, that is we keep on seeing people losing money and complain about it
