You should move from myetherwallet to the mycrypto and that has created by the former developer of MEW.

One thing I can give advice is that: do not attend the airdrops that require you send ETH (even very small amount) to their contract address to get the airdrop tokens. This is dangerous as most of the attenders do not know what is in their contract, so you might be risk of loosing all your token/eth (it will be sent somewhere/to their address) when the contract condition is triggered.

I already have a  MEW. I want to protect it and not fall into the hands of scammers. I will try to download an offline wallet to a computer, as you advised, I think this is the best option to save savings.

i have MEW and i didn't experience getting hack. i avoid directly accessing mew and i access it through metamask. i don't click suspicious links especially the shorten links because it has a possibility of being a phishing link. when checking your crypto use etherscan.

Hi! I think there is only one way to buy cold wallet. but as you know it's quite frustrating to buy cold wallet and put your money out before transaction.
so Ruby-X is going to use 100% cold wallet for users for protection. users can select the rate of using cold wallet from 70% to 100%.

Unless you are using a cold wallet. Generally, safety is totally dependent on you as long as you do not ignorantly fall a victim to hackers baits. Be careful the links you click on, never drop your private key anywhere at any point and at least, rather than having to key in your private key every time to access your MEW, you can make use of metamask. It is a plugin and you can always make ETH transactions on it directly or connect it with MEW or token transactions.

However, the best solid way is to go the cold storage way using a hardware wallet but that comes with a price.

Bookmark the MEW website and keep your private keys very very safe. Don't try to login every time you want to check your wallet for tokens. You can easily check it on etherscan.io without the need to be logged in.

Best way to protect your wallets is by installing anti phishing extensions on your browser. One example is Metacert that is available on Google Chrome. Another is using the Brave browser. And most importantly, keep your private keys safe and do not give them away or show it publicly.

It's very difficult to hack a wallet except they get a hold of you Private key. So what I'll advice.

If you use a desktop, only use Metamask to enter Decentralized exchanges. Don't give anyone your PK. I mean Anyone. (Well except your kids as a will).

Avoid logging in Everytime to your Wallet. If you want to see your incoming and outgoing tokens, use Eth Explorer of your wallet address.

Then get a separate wallet of your very precious coins and another for the others.

Then if you're always on the move, get ImToken.

For Prevention of Phishing sites, download Metacert it's a browser extension, when you're on a real Crypto site, it turns green. Otherwise it stays blank. It prevents you putting your PK in phishing sites.

It's been almost 10 months I'm using MEW and no problems until now. How to protect your wallet from hackers is very easy.

• Always check the webiste MEW first. many web domain phishing scams that are similar like MEW
• Bookmarks the MEW website to make it more secure
• Download Metamask
• Import wallet MEW into Metamaks if you're just going to send the eth

If you want to send a token. use access wallet Metamask are there in MEW, will automatically be entered without the need to upload your private key or keystore. that's it from me hopefully petrified protecting from hack wallet
