My mobile data is safer than my Wi-Fi so I want to use my cellphone's mobile data instead of its wifi for certain web pages such as those related to bitcoin. I have been using Chrome. is there any way to do it let me know please. I can always switch on and off Wi-Fi but it becomes a nuisance after a while.

It's impossible since your idea requiring software/extension access to access current page that Google Chrome for Android access while there's no extension or source code for google chrome. Even if it's exist, it's annoying to switch between mobile and wi-fi connection anytime when you access Bitcoin related website.
Using proxy/VPN/Tor is easier and far more convenient and you could have better privacy/security with proper configuration.

Besides, what basis that makes you think using mobile data is safer Huh

I know why are you worried, using any wireless connection can not be considered completely safe - but you can make your wireless network more secure if you make the next steps :

- Log in your modem and set WPA2-PSK encryption with strong random password.
- Disable WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) on your modem.
- Check with your ISP that you have latest firmware for your modem.

If you set up all that there is no reason to not use your wireless, it will be even safer then your phone mobile data. If you still have problem with that, then all you can is just switch from wireless to mobile data when you want browse crypto related sites.

Maybe you can try to find some app which will block Chrome to use wireless data, try to check this : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.freighter&hl=en

Yeah, use Tor. You can download Orbot and Orfox app. They are official apps from Tor project that allow you to browse Internet over Tor, on your Android.
I suggest you don't use mobile data as well, since Tor is slow enough on it's own.

Enjoy your private, censorship resistant Internet.

- Disable WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) on your modem.

You forgot the more important one: use a VPN!

VPN is good extra protection, but in most cases user need to pay for good one - using free VPN can often be very bad experience. Very slow loading of sites or drop connection can be very annoying. Also if you do something bad on internet you will be tracked even with VPN.

- Disable WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) on your modem.

How do you know these tricks?
Usually people don't know about that...

I know because my wireless network was hacked few years ago even if I used max protection WPA2-PSK+max strong password, but WPS was turned on. If you have this enabled on your modem it is very easy for hacker to get your user name/pass by hacking 8 numbers WPS code. But WPA2 is today completely unsafe and it can be cracked by few methods - but we will soon have WPA3 security standard

There is an app on Play Store which let you brute force a WPS-enabled Wi-Fi. It has been downloaded many times.

You can't 'brute force' a wifi just because it has WPS enabled.

There are SOME router which have a vulnerability. This vulnerability allows you to get access to the PSK (or more detailed: to surpass the need of the PSK).
But an updated router does NOT have any vulnerability with WPS enabled.

Especially since you almost always need to press a button on the router to enable WPS for a short amount of time (e.g. 60 seconds).

But WPA2 is today completely unsafe and it can be cracked by few methods - but we will soon have WPA3 security standard

That's completely wrong. WPA2 can NOT be cracked.
Multiple implementations have a vulnerability because the protocol is a bit flawed.

This allows an attacker to lead the flow of the program to a point where the same encryption key is used twice. THIS can be then used to DECRYPT the traffic IN ONE DIRECTION.
The direction (e.g. client -> router OR router -> client) depends on the protocol implementation on each individual router.

But, decrypting the traffic DOES NOT MEAN that the PSK can be cracked or that one can gain access to your network. Those are 2 completely independent cases.

What about routers with no WPS button? Almost all new devices do not have such button and they have WPS enabled by default. There are not "some routers which have a vulnerability", they all have it and WPS is known as black hole of wirelless security. I try my new device manufactured by the end of 2017 and by enabled WPS it take 2+ hours to be cracked. WPS is an unnecessary risk and it should be disabled on any modem/router.

Everything can be cracked, only if you know how to do it - is this news also completely wrong? https://gbhackers.com/crack-wifi-network-passwords/

Oh Lucius is very correct.
There were some vulnerabilities in RNG of common routers that allow them to be hacked in seconds (pixiedust attack, for reference), but all WPS can be cracked with brute force without much time spent.

It is an online password attack, so rate limiting can be very useful here, although many routers don't have it or can be bypassed with setting a decent delay between tries.

You can easily brute force any router in 8 hours, but of course this can increase to 24 hours, even days, for those that have rate limiting built in.
The issue is simply in the protocol having such a small key space.
8 digits sound not so bad, until you learn that they are actually split in two halves and verified independently.
You don't even have to brute force full 10k combinations of last 4 digits because the last one is a checksum.

So in short 11k combinations, really ain't sh*t.

Agreed tor is slow but secure. OP must choose from security vs time. I bet time, well for me, as posted here by most of the people, we can use VPN to add security on fast wireless connection.

I agree with Lucius any routers can be possible to crack and brute force. There is some software called WIBR and WIfi BRuteforce which can be used for cracking wifi password. Here, in our area, there are many IT Students that I think they're trying to crack our wifi password by using this tool because I noticed that there were a few unknown IPs in my wifi status page. Which I think there were people who have hacked my wifi. So, I decided to hide my wifi or SSID. It helps a lot to me because no one can find my wifi unless if they are asking to connect their mobile phone to my wifi.

By hiding SSID you can increase your network privacy and protect your devices from remote access and keyloggers. Combination of Lucius suggestion and VPN with hidden SSID your wifi will be safe, protected and secured. So you don't need to switch on mobile data.

There's a small drawback on using VPN to access BCT though.
If the IP Address was used by a banned user or currently being used by a "rule offender", if you're using it (especially newbies) there would be consequences.

Also, it will be troublesome to register using an "evil IP" too (mostly from VPNs). You will have to pay some Satoshis in order to complete the registration.

I think you are just overthinking there and making things confidential. Don't need to go technical.

It's difficult to hacked a certain account especially for bitcoin related sites such as exchanges just because of wifi related thing. And for viewing web pages only, I don't see how it was a big deal. And to take note, that's your own wifi and not public.

Don't think too much. Wifi or mobile data, as long as you understand how security works including how will you handle your account then you are good to go.

What about routers with no WPS button? Almost all new devices do not have such button and they have WPS enabled by default.

To be honestly, i am not aware of a single router without a WPS button.
The whole purpose of WPS is to physically press a button to circumvent entering the PSK.

Having WPS enabled by default WITHOUT a button, is plain stupid, i agree. But any router which isn't lowest low-class shouldn't be that shitty.

So, I decided to hide my wifi or SSID. It helps a lot to me because no one can find my wifi unless if they are asking to connect their mobile phone to my wifi.

Hiding the SSID doesn't give you any benefit regarding security. Random people just won't see it on their mobile phone.
But anyone still can connect to it and anyone still can sniff all probe requests / handshakes. You are gaining nothing.

By hiding SSID you can increase your network privacy and protect your devices from remote access and keyloggers.

No. Neither the privacy nor the security of your network is enhanced when hiding the SSID.
And especially keylogger have nothing to do with your Wifi. Keylogger are purely application level. How do you come to that statement  Huh

I have Speedport W 724V and there is no WPS button, there is only that option in device interface and I disable this option right after I got it from my ISP. It is good device, very stable with high speed but many just look for that WPS button which is not exist as button - user need too log in in device for using WPS.

As Bob123 say hidding SSID will not help you against hack, all hacking tools will detect your wireless network even if you hide SSID. Best option for you is to set new SSID and new strong password+disable WPS, and also use WPA2-PSK. This will not secure your network 100%, but it is best you can do in this moment.

To see who is connected on your modem/router use programs like https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wireless_network_watcher.html or some of the app for smart phones which can do the same thing.

Well, I see nothing but advice, no real solution. I guess then nobody knows what to do. I mean Iam not using public wifi but I am sure there are folks out there who have to use that kind of crap, so they switch to their cell network every time.
