It has been long debated that traffic comes with low quality and spam, so the more quality the less spam and traffic, and the other way around.

This section has decent traffic (more than the Technical Discussion, and the Ivory Tower ones) and has also good quality. We get the usual shitposters complaining about the merit system and stuff, but overall there are good threads and quality posts. Also, useful discussions that lead to changes, as it has happened recently with the new changes for newbies and the introduction of new merit sources.

I think with these changes we are going the right way. Also, because theymos has listened to the community. More changes will be needed in the future, but I think this can open a path leading to a forum with decent quality and decent traffic.

Just wanted to express this thought, any comments welcome.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

With post quality increases, we actually will get more long-standing guests, we are quite highly listed on search engines,.

We are moving in the right direction but  theymos has a lot of coding to do (wouldn't want to be him now)...

meta section is living by what it is created for, it's meant to be discussion about anything related to the forum, and I am quite happy that the mods always listens to the community members whenever they demand for a change and we hope to see more of that in the future, I am hoping to see when restriction on the number of post for low ranked members will be implemented to further cut down the spam in the forum.

I wish we could move all the Merit related topics into a new sub-thread, sub-section or something similar... Or just to combine all the merit related topics into one 'Merit Megathread' where everyone could tell his/her opinion about the merit system, or to move this whole thing into the Beginners' board... I'm not 100% sure that if someone complains against a working solution (merit system) then it's belongs to Meta, because in my understanding Meta is for something that's unexpected, bug, error, etc...
