its locked when you have it encrypted...

I have all my wallets encrypted ... so then I can use the button to unlock, ok.

No, from what i understood (i just mined with sha256 the shacoin just for testing purposes) when its locked... the wallet is not "mining" (in the POS state i mean)
actually the coins from POS are called "minted" not mined... and the wallet shows them as POFmined... and after some confirmations they end up verified...

My problem and inquiry is that i do not understand.. when the coins "mature" or "age" in our example here in 42 days...
how can i manage how many i want in "stake" position and how many on the "normal" position... i mean for the over 42 ones...
Cause when they are in "stake" you cannot use them...

And i dont know how the "minting" works... for example i had 50000shacoins... the last 2 days they gave me nothing... 3 days before... i had almost 250 "minted"
and then all the coins after that went to "normal".

So here, i am on the third day of normal coins and no "minted" (POS) so far...nothing on "stake" for the last 3 days..
and i dont know who decides that... cause all of my coins are "aged-matured" I think we wait and see what happens here...
42 days is a lot i think...The last month there have been so many changes in cryptoworld.. not changes...wrong word... failures i wanted to say..

with the current trend of falling...if we reach 0.001 per mhas... most of the people will stop mining...cause trully the electricity doesnt worth it..

there are tons of ways to use or send money to someone and then to an exchange...with not even the government of china noticing it..

The coin age is based on date it was last moved or minted.

If you want to manage coins only for minting and for spending, you need a separate wallet for each (from different OS or PC)

I read the paper written behind the guy who created Peercoin. I can't say I completely understood it. I also don't know what might be different in this coin.

Anyway, the reason for pretending that coin ages are zero until they are past some limit (like 30 or 42 days) is to allow checkpointing. There will be a checkpoint newer than that so all transactions that put the 42 day-old coins into your wallet can no longer be questioned.

Keep in mind that when you mint, all coins used are transferred back to yourself, so they become brand new again. You will have to wait another 42 days before those coins can be used to mint again.

What I don't understand at all is that the paper described hashing against a target that is set by coindays. I have no idea what that's about or if that's in the coin now.

Again, what I'm saying is based on what I think is true for Peercoin. I might be wrong about that, and it might not apply to ECC.

Unfortunately, we never have been told how minting actually works with ECC. There is a FAQ in the OP, but it says very little and links to Wikipedia, which says even less.

But can someone please link me or explain me: If I'm on a unlocked wallet, I'm minting but is the interest rate still counting ?

PoW, is mining what will end in 15 18 day's, right ? YES; First POS payout in 15 days
PoW, is later on minting with an unlocked wallet right ? NO, POS is now minting with unlocked wallet. Every 42 day is PAYDAY!
PoS, is interest rate with an locked wallet only ? Unlocked (Interest rate = POS minting)
PoS, is just keep coins in wallet on same address without moving them ? YES
PoS, works with locked and unlocked wallet ? UNLOCKED

Answers was good. Also you don't have to open wallet and keep during 42 days online, but open & close within 42 days periods to see some minting. You can lock your wallet and time to time unlock it to see some minting coins generated.
