What happened to the coin blockchain?

Any fork? Or bad nodes? I had to re-create my local database...

I had that, too. And while syncing, it sometimes stopped for ages. Around block 90 000, slightly above 100 000 and around 180 000 I think it was.

When I became too impatient, I deleted everything in the data folder (apart from wallet.dat  ), and started new. Now 3rd attempt, I am synced, finally. Sigh.

The debug.log had strange messages, if it is of any use, I can post them.

But essentially it got solved - through patience.

Now that some of you are seemingly sitting on hundreds of millions of coins, which are loosing value by the day - what about sharing your wealth, give one third away, for ... whatever, so that your remaining two thirds become valuable again. ECC-whales, get involved yourself, to save your wealth.
What about (just an example, you find better ways...): Print two hundred paper wallets, fill them with 1 USD worth of coins each (that's more than my stack is worth now ), and leave them where young and or computer-affine consumers pick them up.

PREACH!!! you guys should listen to this guy is it because ECC dose not have any legit developers with a good background of experience some past software developments? Or is it the fact that whoever is representing PR are not very good at it by not securing a fundamental market to even use the currency bitcoin had silk road thats all I'm saying.( not to say we should use this in an illegal manner) obviously it has to be a reason why consumers would use the currency out of the hundreds being made every day by possible tying ourself to a few markets even if they are unrelated the ecological benefits for earth just to start a base to grow from. There has not been any major accomplishments with this coin to significantly earn respect and create a house hold name it has just lived off of hype and community support which says a lot for a coin with no innovations as of today but think about this ECC has the best logo out and i can tell it was made with simplicity the color it self give soft a good vibe to attract consumers. ECC already has a good following which can easily surpass doge with the help of the Chinese  market the coin has a lot of potential if they really had a legit team behind it even a smart crook with the intentions of just making a scam coin for quick BTC round up could see by now they could make much more legal money if they just push the coin to excel this coin either needs new devs and public relations. i wish i could take control of this one it could of really went beyond what one's mind think is far i would say either lower the amount of coins buy rounding up a few billion and then either put them in cold storage or just destroy them to show a face of honesty to the community and find a company to merge with in partnership sense i think the devs in indonesia and the other countries so call listed behind this coin need a bit of help  i just hope if they are crooks  they have an epiphany and say what the heck lets actual give this coin a try look how much we made already at a half a million dollar cap lets give it major exposure now hate me if you want i don't care someone ha dot say it i don't even want a donation rather some innovation
