Whenever I invest on any ICO I try to find the team members and try to see who they are and what they have done with their life and what they achieved and if they look like they are really good guys that managed to make big things happen before this one than I invest. For example if Vitalik is part of a ICO one day I will definitely try to wait for him to say something about that ICO and not accept that he is part of it just because the website says so.

First, i want you to know that not all ICOs are scam and that does not mean there are no scam ICOs.
Another things is that most investors these days invest wisely, except for some very few of them, who do not care to do their research on projects before investing into them.
Also, we cannot be 100% sure of the sure of the success of a project, so we invest only what we can afford to loose.
