From Elixxir's official Discord channel: We are excited to announce the opening of our BetaNet Node Selection process! Beginning with a node questionnaire which opens this Monday, Jan. 21st at 10am EST, the entire selection process entails 6 steps - and will be driven by you, the community, to ensure transparency & openness ultimately determine which nodes will launch the Elixxir BetaNet this summer.

We are also happy to share more updated information around our Node Specifications & Guidelines. Meeting these published node specifications should be affordable, ensuring democratic accessibility for all interested operators. At current pricing, the estimated setup cost for a BetaNet node is approximately $1,600.

Seems like something very interesting is cooking up: Elixxir Progress Update: From Singapore to BetaNetIt’s been a busy past few months for the Elixxir team! From public reveal at Consensus Singapore in September to the opening of our BetaNet Node Applications last week, our team has been hard at work behind the scenes prepping for a big 2019. Part of that has been ramping up our content releases detailing new information and initiatives specific to the Elixxir platform. To make sure members of our community, both new and old, are up to date on Elixxir’s progress we took a few minutes to work up a recap of updates and projects currently in progress for the Elixxir platform. This note should serve as a one-stop-shop to get yourself caught up with our community.
As a starter, if you’re new to our community or simply haven’t gotten around to reading it yet, take a look at our Technical Brief. Originally published with David’s Consensus Singapore keynote address announcing the Elixxir platform, the Technical Brief is a high-level overview of the technical elements which make up Elixxir. For the non-technical members of the community, the Technical Brief is a very accessible explanation that serves as an easy entry-point into the more technical elements behind the Elixxir platform. Pay particular attention to the “Letter From Our Founder”, description of Elixxir’s precomputation and scaling strategy, and cartoons explaining David’s mix protocols.
After the launch of our Technical Brief, our team quietly began working on development and rollout methodology of the Elixxir BetaNet which launched during the North American Bitcoin Conference in Miami this January. Based on the IETF’s original methodology for standardizing protocols of the early internet, the rollout of the Elixxir BetaNet and selection of BetaNet Nodes has been designed to be driven by the community who will ultimately run the network.

Due to the novel technology behind the Elixxir platform, our nodes also operate a bit differently than nodes for other platforms. So our VP of Architecture Ben Wenger wrote up some additional detail behind the specification requirements we have listed for BetaNet Nodes. You can find this blog here.
Step 1 of that BetaNet rollout began with a questionnaire assessing community values toward background, governance, incentives, and more for the Elixxir BetaNet’s early nodes. Participation in the survey was not required to participate in step 2, the application, but will ultimately be viewed favorably during final selection. Step 1 saw an extremely positive turnout in respondents to the survey.
Take a look at the results post to get a better understanding into what Elixxir’s community values in potential BetaNet Node Operators.
Those community preferences have then been directly incorporated in the stage 2 application, which opened last Monday (February 18th, 2019) and will remain open through Friday, March 15th at 11:59pm PST. The application is the next critical step forward in launching the Elixxir BetaNet this summer 2019, and submissions will be opened for community selection and vetting beginning mid-April. |

I've been following the Elixxir project for a while. Lately, there has been considerable progress. It really comes as a good option based on existing solutions. In particular, scalability and real-time processing feature attracted my attention. Currently active work in the AlphaNet application is very important for the future.

Been following this Elixxir project for a while now, and with the lastest developments over the last few weeks it's already looks like this project is going to be special, also their concept is quiet unique which makes this project different from others, something so that it becomes more useful and long also.

Just stumbling upon this and wondering how I've never heard about it considering the pedigree of the founder and team backing it up. Will tag this for later analysis and review. Seems to be one of the few projects that gets privacy right |

Very often we get news of the stock market and wallet attack, the market is shaken with this news and the trust in crypto is decreasing.
Today's biggest problem is the security of the stock market and wallet. After these are achieved, rapid processing and low transaction costs increase the attractiveness of the platforms.
elixxir.io offers an indispensable platform for crypto users with its processing speed of less than 10 seconds, the importance it places on privacy and the high security it provides.
The elixxir project will definitely be a project I'll follow closely. I believe that they will be successful with their experienced team and projects.

What is Elixxir? Elixxir is a decentralized blockchain platform that allows users to communicate and exchange value securely and confidentially. Elixxir’s breakthrough design produces a decentralized network capable of potentially scaling to process transactions on a megatps scale, far exceeding the kilo-tps scale characteristic of conventional mainstream payment systems.
