The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced Thursday that it has begun proceedings to decide whether to approve a proposed bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF).

The SEC published an "order instituting proceedings to determine whether to approve or disapprove a proposed rule change" filed by Cboe BZX Exchange, Inc. If approved, Cboe would have the green light to list a bitcoin ETF pitched earlier this year by money management firm VanEck and crypto startup SolidX.

As part of that process, the SEC wants more input from the public – to date, according to the agency, more than 1,400 comments have been submitted.

Am hopeful that Sec will approve this one and if they do, market will respond to it positively and if they don't there maybe some little decline.

One of the encouragements is the experience of 9 failed ETF proposals; A lot was drawn from them to make it better.  The proposal was said to be well prepared and the personnel presenting it is vast on some many grounds. SEC knew they need to do thorough work before approval and I guess that must have caused the postponement. We hope at any time it may be, it will be a success .

I think whole market is very excited about this etf decision, even if it gets delayed the sentiment in the market will keep positive because delaying till dec jan will mean that sec is seriously considering to approve this proposal and not rejecting it like other etf proposals.

Approval of an ETF funds is the much awaited news in the cryptoworld. It's responsible for the plunge in altcoin last month and presently the reversal in the price of most coins today is not unconnected to the positive outlook people are holding. If the approval sails through, we're sure to see price plummeting in days to come.
